WBA Continental Americas middleweight titleholder Ian Green is set to face Roy Barringer in the headliner of an April 27 card at the Casino Miami Jai-Alai in Miami.
Green (18-2, 12 KOs), a native of Paterson, N.J., is a fan favorite at Casino Miami and winner of six fights in a row. Barringer (10-4, 6 KOs), a hard-hitting challenger from Toledo, Ohio, will try to halt Green’s momentum in the event, entitled “The Quest for the Best.”
“In the ring, there’s no room for hesitation, only domination,” said Don King, the event’s promoter. “’The Quest for the Best’ will be a testament to the relentless pursuit of greatness in the squared circle.”
Additionally, Miami’s Ahmed Elbiali (23-1, 18 KOs), who holds the NABA/NABF light heavyweight title, will try to show off his explosive power against undefeated Sergio Jimenez (13-0-1, 11 KOs) of San Pedro, California.
WBC International lightweight titleholder Antonio Perez (9-0, 5 KOs) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, will put his title up against Oscar Acevedo (9-1) of Los Angeles.
Scheduled undercard fights include DeVon Williams (4-0, 4 KOs) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, facing Julio Tanori (1-1, 1 KO) for the WBC Youth Intercontinental junior welterweight title; Angel Perez (9-0, 7 KOs) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, taking on Nigel Fennell (13-3, 8 KOs) of Chula Vista, California; Lawrence Newton (16-0, 7 KOs) of Boynton Beach, Florida, challenging Colombia’s Luis Tenorio (10-0, 8 KOs); and Chicago’s Semajay Thomas (11-1, 8 KOs) against an opponent to be determined.
The event will be broadcast live on DonKing.com, FITE.TV and ITUBE247.com.
