Ibo Aslan Gets Redemption with Walk-Off Knockout at UFC Atlantic City
Ibo Aslan got his revenge — and did so in emphatic fashion.
On Saturday night, Aslan faced Anton Turkalj on the prelims of UFC Atlantic City. The bout was a rematch of the lone loss of Aslan’s career, when Turkalj submitted him at Brave FC 40 in 2020. This time, however, Aslan was determined to come out on top and prove himself as a force to be reckoned with in the UFC light heavyweight division.
The fight between Aslan and Turkalj was one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the evening, and it did not disappoint. From the opening bell, both fighters wasted no time in exchanging heavy punches and kicks, showcasing their power and determination to come out on top.
In the second round, Aslan began to find his rhythm and repeatedly landed powerful right hands on Turkalj, who showed incredible resilience and continued to fight back. As the third round began, it seemed as though Turkalj may have been gaining the upper hand as Aslan appeared to be tiring. But as they say, looks can be deceiving.
Just over a minute into the third round, Aslan unleashed a monstrous right hand that connected with Turkalj’s chin and sent him crashing to the canvas. The referee quickly stepped in to stop the fight, giving Aslan a walk-off knockout victory in his UFC debut.
With this impressive win, Aslan improves his MMA record to 12-1 and solidifies himself as a rising star in the UFC light heavyweight division. As for Turkalj, he falls to 0-4 in the UFC and is likely on his way out of the promotion.
But for Aslan, this victory is just the beginning. As a product of the Contender Series, he has proven that he has what it takes to compete at the highest level and is definitely someone to keep an eye on in the 205-pound weight class.
