The Hilarious Mistake That Had UFC CEO Dana White and Former ESPN Anchor Sage Steele in Stitches

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele recently sat down with UFC CEO Dana White for an interview on her video podcast, The Sage Steele Show. The conversation was going smoothly until Steele made a hilarious mistake that had both her and White in stitches.

Asking White about his dreams, Steele accidentally mixed him up with another bald, pugnacious UFC personality, Joe Rogan. It took a moment for White to realize what had happened, and Steele quickly tried to cover her tracks. But the damage was done, and the internet was quick to catch on and enjoy the moment.

The exchange was caught on camera and can be seen in the video clip below. Steele, getting comfortable in her interview chair, asked, “What’s Joe Rogan’s dream?” to which White responded, “Joe Rogan’s dream?” Steele then corrected herself, saying, “Joe Rogan…Dana White. What’s Dana White’s dream?”

White, with an incredulous look, asked, “Did you just think I was Joe Rogan?” Steele admitted her mistake, and White couldn’t help but laugh and poke fun at the situation. “She just called me f****** Joe Rogan!” he exclaimed, looking off-screen at someone on his staff. “You thought I was f****** Joe Rogan! I was bald before Joe Rogan was ever bald!”

The irony of the situation was not lost on White, who had just ranted about his hatred for the media and their lack of fact-checking during the same interview. As a former ESPN anchor, Steele should have known the first rule of journalism – get the subject’s name right.

A Lesson in Humility and Laughter

Despite the mix-up, both Steele and White were able to laugh it off and continue with the interview. It was a moment of humility for Steele, who had just been called out by the UFC CEO for her mistake. And for White, it was a moment of lightheartedness in an otherwise serious conversation.

But beyond the laughter, there is a lesson to be learned. In the fast-paced world of sports media, it’s easy to make mistakes. But it’s important to take the time to fact-check and get the details right, especially when interviewing high-profile figures like Dana White.

So next time you’re conducting an interview, remember to double-check your facts and avoid any embarrassing mix-ups. And if you do make a mistake, just remember to laugh it off and move on – just like Sage Steele and Dana White did.
