Join Galatasaray: Pay Martial less This article talks about Galatasaray’s interest in signing Anthony Martial for a lower salary

Galatasaray Targeting Free Agent Anthony Martial With One Condition

Kosport Magazine can confirm that Galatasaray are eyeing a move for former Manchester United striker Anthony Martial. The Frenchman is currently a free agent after nine years at Old Trafford.

According to a source close to Galatasaray, the club is interested in signing Martial, who left United along with Raphaël Varane and Brandon Williams on Wednesday. However, there is one condition that must be met for the move to happen.

The source reveals that Martial needs to drop his wage demands if he wants to join the Turkish champions. This means that the 28-year-old will have to settle for a lower salary than what he was earning at United.

Martial had a difficult season in 2020/21, making only 13 Premier League appearances due to injuries. However, he still managed to score 90 goals in 317 games in all competitions during his time at United. His last goal for the club came in a 3-0 win over Everton in November.

The Frenchman hasn’t played a competitive game since December after undergoing groin surgery. But Galatasaray believes he can still be a valuable asset to their team.

Meanwhile, United is also in talks with Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton to extend their contracts. Evans, who played 30 games for United last season, signed a one-year deal last summer. He also made an appearance as a substitute in the FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

Heaton, the third-choice goalkeeper, is also in talks to extend his contract with United. However, both players are free to leave for other clubs this summer if they can’t come to an agreement with United.

United has also made a contract offer to 19-year-old forward Omari Forson, who made his senior team debut last season. However, sources suggest that he is expected to leave the club this summer. If he does leave, United will be due compensation from the club he joins.

Plus, talks are ongoing between United and 17-year-old Shola Shoretire for a new contract. On the other hand, former Tottenham and England midfielder Tom Huddlestone has left United after two years as an Under-21 player-coach.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Anthony Martial could be a great addition to Galatasaray’s squad, but only if he is willing to lower his salary demands. The Turkish club has shown interest in the Frenchman, who is currently a free agent after leaving Manchester United. However, the deal will only go through if Martial agrees to a lower salary, as confirmed by a source close to Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, United is also in talks to extend the contracts of Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton, but if they can’t reach an agreement, both players are free to leave this summer. The club has also made a contract offer to 19-year-old Omari Forson, but sources suggest he might leave the club. Talks are ongoing with 17-year-old Shola Shoretire for a new contract as well. Additionally, former Tottenham and England midfielder Tom Huddlestone has left United after two years as an Under-21 player-coach.
