Trackhouse: A New Player in MotoGP
Kosport Magazine is excited to announce the arrival of Trackhouse in the MotoGP world. This American team has taken over from previous owners RNF and CryptoDATA and is now running two Aprilias for Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez.
The last few months have been a whirlwind for Trackhouse, as they had to build their structure from scratch to compete in MotoGP. But little by little, stability has come to this team that was once living in uncertainty. And now, they can finally breathe easier.
Despite having contracted two models of the latest specification bike for their riders, time constraints have only allowed Oliveira to start the season with this year’s bike, while Fernandez is competing with the 2023 version.
But despite their best intentions, the start of the championship has not gone as well as expected. Oliveira’s ninth place at Portimao is the team’s best result so far, while Fernandez has yet to score a point and is currently last in the standings.
However, as Aprilia’s most senior executive, Massimo Rivola, welcomes the agreement reached a few months ago, which commits the Noale factory to supply its bikes to Trackhouse for the next few years.
“It is extremely valuable for us to have Trackhouse on board. Their influence will be key in the development of the RS-GP,” says Rivola, speaking to Kosport Magazine.
“The emergence of Trackhouse is a huge opportunity, the best any other manufacturer can have. This is a very ambitious team. I can’t wait for Trackhouse to beat us, because that will mean we could have done better.”
Rivola, who has extensive experience in Formula 1 with Toro Rosso and Ferrari, believes that competition is the basis of growth. “If you want to grow, competition is the basis of everything,” he says.
“I am one of the people who supported the signing of Davide Brivio by Trackhouse. His resume speaks for itself. I like to work with people as capable as him, who can potentially be even better than me. That’s the philosophy that should be present in the whole team.”
Prior to the confirmation of Brivio’s hiring by Trackhouse, there were reports that he could be heading to Honda. Some believe that the position he holds may not suit his ambition in the medium term.
But Rivola clarifies, “I explicitly asked for Davide to be hired for the medium term, never for the short term. I want him to be at our side to grow Trackhouse and Aprilia. I made sure that they removed that fear that he might leave.”
Bringing in the Best
Kosport Magazine is excited to see what Trackhouse can bring to the MotoGP world. With their ambitious team and the addition of Davide Brivio, we can expect great things from them in the future.
But they will face tough competition from other teams, including Aprilia. And Rivola believes that this competition is necessary for growth.
In the end, it’s all about bringing in the best and pushing each other to be better. And with Trackhouse on board, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for MotoGP.
