2024 Quarterback Projections: Mahomes on the Rise, Purdy Takes a Hit?

The Challenge of Playing Quarterback in the NFL: Improving or Regressing in 2024

We have all heard the saying that it takes a special kind of athlete to play quarterback in the National Football League. This couldn’t be more true, as it is one of the toughest positions in professional sports. Every year, we see a great deal of volatility at the quarterback position, even among some of the league’s top players. Last year, we saw this with the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who went from winning the MVP award in 2022 to a noticeable decline in performance in 2023. With all of this in mind, Kosport Magazine takes a look at 20 of the projected starting quarterbacks and whether they will improve or regress in the 2024 season.

In the improvement group, we will see quarterbacks who are either returning from injury or are expected to naturally improve due to factors such as their experience and supporting cast. This includes players like Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets, who missed most of the 2023 season due to an Achilles injury, and Daniel Jones of the New York Giants, who is returning from a torn ACL. However, it’s worth noting that we may have already seen the best of Jones in the 2022 season.

Then, there are teams with quarterback competitions such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Las Vegas Raiders, and Minnesota Vikings. This adds some uncertainty in projecting improvement or regression. there are quarterbacks like Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, and Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, who may have similar outputs in 2024 as they did in 2023 due to minimal changes in their situations.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

Playing quarterback in the NFL is a tough job, and it takes a special type of player to succeed at this position. With so much volatility at the quarterback position, it’s always interesting to see how players will perform from year to year. As we look ahead to the 2024 season, Kosport Magazine takes a closer look at the 20 projected starting quarterbacks and whether they will improve or regress. Keep an eye on these players, as their performances will have a significant impact on their teams’ success. The Houston Texans are a rising team in the NFL, and a large part of their success can be attributed to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, in the 2023 season, Rodgers faced an unfortunate injury that hindered his performance for the second half of the year. Despite this setback, Rodgers is expected to bounce back in the 2024 season and show why he is considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league.

Kosport Magazine presents an in-depth look at the top 20 quarterbacks in the NFL who are set to make a statement in the 2024 season. From injuries and bounce backs, to improvements and regressions, we have all the details on who to keep an eye on this upcoming year.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

First on our list is none other than the Houston Texans’ own Aaron Rodgers. Despite a stellar start to the 2023 season, Rodgers unfortunately suffered an injury that affected his performance in the second half of the year. However, with determination and skill, he is expected to bounce back in 2024 and reclaim his spot as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

The NFL’s Top 20 Quarterbacks of 2024

Extremely Likely to Bounce Back from Injury

Kosport Magazine has identified the top three quarterbacks who are almost certain to bounce back from injury in the upcoming season.

Aaron Rodgers

With a phenomenal start to the 2023 season, Rodgers led the Texans to success before being hindered by an injury. However, with his incredible talent and determination, he is expected to make a strong comeback in 2024 and continue to be a key player for the Texans.

Next up on our list is Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott. Prescott suffered a season-ending injury in 2020, but is expected to make a full recovery and come back stronger than ever in the 2024 season.

Completing the trio is Carolina Panthers’ Cam Newton. After facing a series of injuries in recent years, Newton is ready to prove himself and lead the Panthers to success in the upcoming season.

Kosport Magazine will continue to monitor these star quarterbacks and their impressive comeback stories in the 2024 season. Stay tuned for more updates and analysis on the top players in the NFL.

Aaron Rodgers’ 2023 Season: The Fall of a Legend

rnrnFor years, Aaron Rodgers was the epitome of a dominant quarterback. His ability to lead the Green Bay Packers to victory, year after year, solidified his place as one of the greatest to ever play the game. However, in 2023, it all came crashing down in just four snaps.

At the start of the season, Rodgers had high hopes for another MVP-worthy performance. But after an Achilles injury, his season was cut short, leaving him with no completed passes and a disappointing end to his time with the Packers.

Despite this setback, his legacy remains intact. In his last two seasons with Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator, Rodgers won the NFL MVP and led the league in passing touchdowns and touchdown to interception ratio. However, Hackett has moved on and Rodgers now faces a new challenge with the New York Jets.

But with the Jets’ recent offensive improvements, Rodgers has a strong supporting cast to work with. From signing eight-time Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith to drafting top prospects like Olumuyiwa Fashanu and Malachi Corley, the Jets have shown a commitment to building a strong offense for Rodgers.

Additionally, Rodgers’ reliance on his mobility has decreased in recent years, so an Achilles injury may not be as detrimental to his game as it would be for other quarterbacks.

Rodgers’ 2023 season may have been a fall from grace, but with a new team and stronger support, there’s a good chance he can redeem himself in the upcoming season. As they say, it’s easy to improve upon a season in which no passes were completed.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

While it was disappointing to see a legend like Rodgers have such a short and unsuccessful season, it’s important to remember that even the best athletes face challenges and setbacks. The true measure of greatness is how one bounces back from those moments.

With a new team and improved offensive lineup, Rodgers has the opportunity to show the NFL world that he still has what it takes to dominate on the field. And we have no doubt that he will rise to the challenge and prove why he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.

Kosport Magazine Presents: Breaking Records and Healing Injuries – The Rise of Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson: A Star on the Rise

Coming out of the University of Florida in the 2023 NFL Draft, many saw Anthony Richardson as a project player. But the Indianapolis Colts had faith in him and selected him fourth overall. And he wasted no time in proving them right.

As a rookie, Richardson made history by becoming just the fourth player in NFL history to record three or more passing touchdowns and three or more rushing touchdowns in his first four career games. This is a feat that even some of the league’s biggest stars, like Robert Griffin III and Cam Newton, were not able to achieve.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Richardson’s Potential

Unfortunately, Richardson’s promising rookie season was cut short by a season-ending shoulder injury in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. But with a little more caution and a solid team around him, he is sure to continue making strides in the 2024 season.

Richardson will have the support of running back Jonathan Taylor, wide receivers Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs, and the addition of Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell as a second-round pick. With these talented players surrounding him, Richardson’s potential is limitless. He has the ability to break records and lead the Colts to victory.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Keeping the Faith

Despite the setback, Joe Burrow’s determination and skill cannot be denied. He has shown immense potential in his rookie season, leading the Bengals to some impressive victories. Kosport Magazine:Kyler Murray Set to Take the NFL by Storm

Kosport Magazine: Kyler Murray Set to Take the NFL by Storm

With the return of star wide receivers, Chase and Tee Higgins, along with head coach Zac Taylor, Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals is poised to improve upon his already impressive career in the 2023 NFL season.

Murray, the first overall pick in the 2019 draft, has quickly established himself as a dynamic and exciting player to watch. In his first two seasons, he has already led the Cardinals to back-to-back playoff appearances and has shown no signs of slowing down.

But with the addition of talented offensive pieces and a strong coaching staff, Murray is primed to take the NFL by storm in the upcoming season.

At just 24 years old, Murray has the potential to be one of the top quarterbacks in the league. He has shown incredible poise and athleticism on the field, making him a dual-threat that is difficult for opponents to defend against.

In the 2021 season, Murray completed 65.7% of his passes for 1,799 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He also averaged 6.71 yards per attempt and added 819 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns to his stats.

But it’s not just his individual statistics that make Murray stand out. He has proven to be a leader on and off the field, earning the respect and admiration of his teammates and coaches.

With the return of his top receivers, Murray will have even more weapons at his disposal to utilize in the high-powered Cardinals offense. And with the guidance of head coach Zac Taylor, who has played a significant role in Murray’s development, the young quarterback is poised to lead his team to greater success in the upcoming season.

In Kyler Murray, Kosport Magazine sees a rising NFL star who has all the tools and potential to become one of the greatest quarterbacks of his generation. Keep an eye out for him in the 2023 season, because Kyler Murray is set to take the NFL by storm.

Murray’s 2024 Season: The Comeback Year

After suffering a torn ACL in the 2022 season, Kyler Murray made a triumphant return in 2023. However, his performance was hindered by his injury, resulting in low completion percentages while targeting wide receivers and on deep passes.

But in 2024, Murray is poised to have a comeback year. With a new coaching staff and the addition of a standout wide receiver in the draft, Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., things are looking up for the Cardinals quarterback.

Murray’s completion percentages are expected to improve, especially when targeting wide receivers. With a talented and reliable weapon like Harrison Jr. on the field, Murray will have more options and opportunities to make successful passes. Additionally, the year removed from his knee injury will give him more time to fully recover and strengthen his game.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Murray is poised to have a standout season, showcasing his improved accuracy and athleticism. Keep an eye on this QB as he leads the Cardinals to victory.

Kosport Magazine’s Take on Justin Herbert:

Meet Justin Herbert, the quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers. At only 23 years old, Herbert has already made a name for himself in the NFL. In the 2023 season, he threw for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, with an impressive completion percentage of 65.1%.

Standing at 6’6″ with a strong arm and quick thinking, Herbert is a force to be reckoned with on the field. His size and skill allows him to make difficult throws and evade defenders with ease. And with the talented WR Keenan Allen by his side, Herbert is ready to lead the Chargers to victory.

As Herbert continues to develop and improve, there’s no telling how far he can go in the NFL. Keep an eye on this rising star as he cements his place as one of the league’s top quarterbacks.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Justin Herbert Primed for Strong Return in 2024 Season

After a shortened 2023 season due to a finger injury, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is set to make a comeback in the 2024 season. With new head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman, Herbert is expected to have a much stronger and healthier year.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: With the addition of Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt in the 2024 NFL Draft and the signing of running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, the Chargers’ revamped offensive line and ground game will provide Herbert with more support and protection. This, coupled with the team’s acquisition of Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey, will also help relieve some pressure off the talented young quarterback.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: With these improvements and the return of a healthy Herbert, we can expect to see the Chargers’ run game, which was previously a weak spot, improve significantly. Since Herbert’s arrival in 2020, the team has ranked fifth lowest in rushing yards per game. However, with the talent and strategic minds now surrounding him, Herbert should have a successful 2024 season and lead his team to greater heights.

Trevor Lawrence: Fighting Through Injuries and Ups and Downs

Kosport Magazine introduces you to Trevor Lawrence, the promising quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his rookie season, Lawrence faced various challenges, both on and off the field, but he managed to fight through them and prove himself as a true competitor.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

Lawrence’s list of injuries in the 2023 season resembled a CVS receipt, with a knee sprain, high ankle sprain, concussion, and shoulder sprain. However, he persevered and showed determination and resilience, even with 10 turnovers in the final four games of the season.

But with a healthy body and the return of his top receiver, Christian Kirk, Kosport Magazine believes Lawrence has the potential to reach new heights in his career. His Pro Bowl campaign in 2022 showed his true potential, and we have no doubt he will continue to improve.

Most Likely to Improve

One player who is most likely to improve alongside Lawrence is wide receiver Patrick Mahomes. Despite facing a season-ending core muscle injury in 2023, Mahomes has shown his talent and potential as a top receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Kosport Magazine is excited to see Lawrence and Mahomes continue to develop and thrive in the NFL. With their determination and drive, the sky’s the limit for these two young stars. Keep an eye out for their future success!rn

Patrick Mahomes: The Comeback King

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is undeniably one of the most talented and exciting players in the NFL. Despite facing some challenges in the 2023 season, Mahomes has proven time and time again that he can overcome any obstacle and emerge as a champion.

In 2022, Mahomes won back-to-back Super Bowl MVP awards and was named the league’s MVP after leading the NFL in passing touchdowns and yards. However, in 2023, his production took a step back as he threw fewer touchdowns and had lower passing yards. Many attributed this decline to his supporting cast, specifically his wide receivers.

According to Sportrader, the Chiefs’ wide receivers had the most drops and the highest drop rate in the entire league in 2023. This greatly affected Mahomes, as he had a career-low in yards per pass attempt when targeting wide receivers and struggled with a poor touchdown to interception ratio.

But the Chiefs were determined to address this issue in the offseason. They drafted Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, known for his record-breaking 40-yard dash time, and signed Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, a deep threat acquired from the Baltimore Ravens. With these additions, Mahomes’ deep passing game is expected to improve and lead to a resurgence in his production.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Mahomes’ ability to overcome obstacles and lead his team to victory is a testament to his talent and determination. With improved support from his wide receivers, we can expect him to continue his reign as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. The comeback king will surely make his mark on the upcoming season.

Jordan Love Shines in First Season as Packers Quarterback

Jordan Love proved his worth as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 season. In his first year in this role, he threw for an impressive 32 touchdowns, putting him in second place for the most touchdown passes in the entire NFL. This remarkable feat was only surpassed by league leader Dak Prescott’s 36 touchdowns.

What’s even more impressive is that Love achieved this while throwing exclusively to players in their first or second year in the NFL. This speaks volumes about his talents and potential to take the Packers’ offense to new heights.

Under Love’s guidance, the Packers’ offense flourished. Even without veteran Aaron Rodgers at the helm, Love was able to effectively lead his team and showcase his skills. This is a testament to his ability to step in and take charge of a team with big shoes to fill.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Love’s performance in his first season as starting quarterback for the Packers shows great promise for his future. With the support of his young, talented teammates, he will continue to improve and solidify his place among the best quarterbacks in the league. Keep an eye out for his progression as he continues to establish himself as a top player in the NFL.

kosport Magazine’s Take:

In the 2023 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans selected C.J. Stroud as the second overall pick. The young quarterback had an incredible rookie season and was quickly named the 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year. In fact, Stroud’s performance was so outstanding that he joined the ranks of legendary quarterbacks Joe Montana and Tom Brady as the only players in the last 50 seasons to lead the NFL in both touchdown-to-interception ratio and passing yards per game. A remarkable achievement, to say the least.

But as we all know, in the world of sports, there’s always room for improvement. And with the addition of talented wide receiver Tank Dell as one of Stroud’s top targets, it’s safe to say that the future looks even brighter for the Texans.

As for Stroud, his phenomenal rookie season has set the bar high for himself and his team. But with his determination and talent, there’s no doubt that he will continue to impress and make an impact in the league. We can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in the coming seasons.

we at Kosport Magazine congratulate C.J. Stroud on a remarkable first year in the NFL and look forward to watching him dominate the field in the years to come. The sky’s the limit for this young, talented quarterback.

Houston Texans Wide Receiver Corps Ready to Dominate in 2024

It’s no secret that the Houston Texans have struggled in recent years, but the future is looking bright for this team. And a big reason why is their talented wide receiver corps, led by Cornell Stroud.

Stroud, who had an impressive 2023 season despite a disappointing overall team performance, is expected to take another step forward in 2024. And he won’t be doing it alone.

Last season, Stroud was forced to carry most of the load after his teammate, Will Dell, suffered a season-ending leg injury. With Dell healthy and the addition of four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Stroud now has a formidable duo by his side.

But it doesn’t stop there. In fact, with the emergence of Nico Collins as a reliable target, the Texans now boast the best wide receiver trio in the NFL according to Kosport Magazine.

And with a full year of experience under his belt, Stroud is poised for even more success in 2024. He has shown incredible chemistry with his new teammates in training camp, and their potential is sky-high.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:
With the addition of Diggs, Houston’s wide receiver corps is now a force to be reckoned with. Stroud proved his potential in 2023 and should continue to improve with a solid supporting cast. Don’t be surprised if this trio leads the Texans to a big turnaround in 2024.

Jalen Hurts: One Step Back, But He’s Ready to Bounce Back

When you think of top quarterbacks in the NFL, Jalen Hurts may not be the first name that comes to mind. But just two seasons ago, he was making a strong case for himself to be considered one of the best. However, after a rough season in 2023, Hurts is looking to bounce back in a big way in 2024 with the help of new additions to the team.

In 2022, Hurts was the runner-up for NFL MVP, led his team to the Super Bowl, and was named second-team All-Pro quarterback. But things took a turn for the worse in 2023 when the offensive coordinator, Shane Steichen, left for the Indianapolis Colts. Hurts saw a significant increase in turnovers and a decline in his passing yards per attempt.

Last season, Hurts averaged 7.2 yards per pass attempt, ranking 14th in the league. Meanwhile, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson averaged eight yards per pass attempt, placing him fourth in the NFL.

But there is hope for Hurts in 2024. With the addition of two-time Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley and experienced offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Hurts has the tools he needs to return to his 2022 form. Moore, who was the play-caller for the Dallas Cowboys from 2019-2022, saw quarterback Dak Prescott have some of the best years of his eight-year career.

Hurts will have to prove himself once again, but with the help of Barkley and Moore, he has the potential to produce at a high level. Kosport Magazine takes a closer look at Hurts’ numbers from the past two seasons:

  • Total TD: 35 (2022), 38 (2023)
  • Turnovers: 8 (2022), 20 (2023)
  • Pass Yards/Attempt: 8.0 (2022), 7.2 (2023)

It’s clear that Hurts had a setback in 2023, but with a strong supporting cast and a proven offensive coordinator, he has the opportunity to bounce back and lead his team to success. Keep an eye on Hurts in the upcoming season, as he looks to reclaim his spot among the top quarterbacks in the NFL.

Carolina Panthers Rookie Quarterback Suffers in Rookie Season, But Improvements on the Horizon

Kosport Magazine – Last year, our Carolina Panthers selected Bryce Young as the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, his rookie season was not one to remember. Despite being the top draft pick, Young had the lowest passer rating (73.7) and passing yards per attempt (5.5) in the entire NFL. He joined the ranks of Troy Aikman (1989) as the only first overall draft pick rookies to be ranked last in both categories since the 1970 AFL/NFL merger. Not exactly the start that was expected from the young quarterback.

Fewest passing yards per attempt in a single season in NFL history (minimum of 500 attempts)

Season QB Yards per Attempt
2003 Joey Harrington (Detroit Lions) 5.2
2001 Chris Weinke (Carolina Panthers) 5.4
2014 Derek Carr (Oakland Raiders) 5.5
2023 Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers) 5.5

However, there is hope for Young’s improvement in the upcoming season. It wasn’t all his fault that he struggled, as he was constantly under pressure due to the Panthers’ high quarterback pressure rate of 42.1%, which led to him being sacked a franchise-record 62 times.

In an effort to improve their offensive line, the Panthers made a big investment this offseason by signing guard Damien Lewis from the Seattle Seahawks to a four-year, $53 million deal. They also added Robert Hunt from the Miami Dolphins on a five-year, $100 million contract, with $63 million guaranteed. These changes should provide better protection for Young and give him more time to make plays.

But that’s not all. General Manager Dan Morgan also made moves to bolster the offense by acquiring wide receiver Diontae Johnson and a seventh-round pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers. On top of that, three of the Panthers’ first four draft choices were used on offensive players in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

Although Young’s rookie season was disappointing, there are many factors at play and the Panthers have taken steps to address them. With improved protection and more offensive weapons, Young should have a better chance to showcase his skills and reach his potential. We at Kosport Magazine are excited to see how he will perform next season and believe that he will bounce back and prove why he was the top pick in the draft.

Hiring a Coach to Elevate Offensive Playmakers in College Football

In college football, there is no shortage of talented players who have the potential to make a big impact on the field. However, not all of these players are able to reach their full potential and showcase their true talent. That’s where a great coach comes in.

This past draft, we saw a number of incredible offensive playmakers get their big break in the NFL. Xavier Legette, Jonathon Brooks, and Ja’Tavion Sanders were all selected in the top 100 picks, thanks in part to their impressive performances on the field. But it’s not just their raw talent that got them there – it’s also the guidance of their coaches.

One coach that stands out in particular is Dave Canales, the former offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Canales played a crucial role in helping Baker Mayfield, a once struggling quarterback, turn his career around and become a top pick in the 2018 draft. Now, Canales is bringing his expertise to the college level as the new head coach at Young University.

With Canales at the helm, players like Lamar Jackson have the opportunity to reach their full potential and make waves in the NFL. Jackson, who plays for Baltimore Ravens, has had an impressive career so far, but with the right coaching and development, he has the potential to become an even bigger star in the league.

But Canales isn’t just limited to working with quarterbacks. His knowledge and experience extends to all positions on the offensive side of the ball. At Young University, we can expect to see the entire offense elevated thanks to Canales’ leadership and guidance.

Kosport Magazine believes that hiring a coach like Canales is a smart move for any college team looking to improve their offense and produce top NFL talent. With his track record of success and ability to develop players, Canales has the potential to transform the game for Young University and beyond.

So as we head into the new college football season, keep an eye out for teams with coaches who can elevate their offensive playmakers and help them reach their full potential. Who knows, we may see even more top draft picks thanks to the guidance of coaches like Dave Canales.

Jackson Continues to Prove Himself as MVP

Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, has proven himself to be a true MVP by winning the NFL MVP title and still having room to improve in 2024. His impressive stats, including 24 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions, have solidified his place as one of the top quarterbacks in the league. His 8.05 yards per attempt also prove his efficiency on the field.

Despite already having a successful season, there is still room for improvement for Jackson. With the signing of Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry and the return of three-time Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews, it is likely that Jackson will have a 1,000-yard rusher and a receiver with 1,000 receiving yards on his team in 2024. This will only increase Jackson’s production and further solidify his MVP status.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

The key to Lamar Jackson’s success lies not only in his individual talent, but also in the strong team around him. With the addition of Derrick Henry and the return of Mark Andrews, Jackson will have even more weapons at his disposal. It will be exciting to see how he continues to improve and lead the Baltimore Ravens to success in the upcoming seasons.

Kosport Magazine’s take: After leading the NFL in passing yards last season, Tua Tagovailoa is ready to take his game to the next level. With a talented receiving corps and new additions to the Miami offense, Tagovailoa has all the tools he needs to be successful in 2024.

Miami Surrounds Tagovailoa with Talent

Tua Tagovailoa threw for a career-high 4,624 yards last season, but he also had a career-high 14 interceptions. With limited options in the passing game, Tagovailoa struggled at times to find his rhythm. But now, with the additions of Odell Beckham Jr., Jonnu Smith, and rookie wide receivers Malik Washington and Tahj Washington, Tagovailoa has a deep and talented group of receivers to target.

Kosport Magazine’s take: Miami has done everything in its power to make sure Tua Tagovailoa has all the weapons he needs to succeed. With the addition of the dynamic Odell Beckham Jr. and the emergence of young talent, Tagovailoa has a supporting cast that will help him take the next step in his career.

Will Levis: A Promising Young Quarterback for 2024

As the NFL season approaches, football fans eagerly await the debut of promising young quarterback, Will Levis. The rising star had a rocky start to his NFL career in 2023 but is determined to make a comeback in the upcoming season. Join Kosport Magazine as we take a closer look at what we can expect from this talented player in the 2024 season.

Levis burst onto the scene in his NFL debut, throwing four passing touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons, tying him for the most all-time in an NFL debut. However, his success was short-lived as he struggled to find his rhythm and only threw four more touchdowns in his next eight starts. Levis’ main issue was his tendency to go for big plays, leading the league with an average of 10.5 air yards per pass attempt. This resulted in a low completion percentage of 58.4%, ranking him last in the NFL.

But these struggles might soon be a thing of the past as the Tennessee Titans have made some significant changes to their offensive lineup for the 2024 season. The team signed top wide receiver Calvin Ridley from the Jacksonville Jaguars and acquired Tyler Boyd from the Cincinnati Bengals, making for a formidable receiving corps for Levis. The addition of All-American offensive tackle JC Latham from Alabama in the 2024 NFL Draft provides the young quarterback with even more protection, giving him the opportunity to showcase his skills and improve on his previous season.

Levis is determined to prove himself in the upcoming season and with a revamped supporting cast by his side, he is sure to make some noise in the NFL. The combination of his experience in the league and the talent surrounding him, it’s safe to say that dropping back to pass will be a breeze for Levis in 2024.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: With his early success and improvements to the Titans’ offense, Will Levis is one of the most promising young quarterbacks to keep an eye on in 2024. He is bound to make a splash in the NFL and solidify his place as a top quarterback in the league.Kosport Magazine’s Take:n

Brock Purdy sets NFL Record, but Can He Repeat in 2024?

Brock Purdy had a historic season in the NFL in 2023, setting the single-season record for passing yards per attempt (9.6) among quarterbacks with at least 350 pass attempts and leading the league in passer rating (113.0). However, with the departure of some key teammates, it may be difficult for Purdy to replicate his success in 2024.

Purdy’s impressive numbers were in large part due to the production of his star teammates, such as 2023 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Christian McCaffrey, Pro Bowl receiver Deebo Samuel, All-Pro tight end George Kittle, and receiver Brandon Aiyuk. However, the health and performance of these players can be unpredictable, and their absence could heavily impact Purdy’s production.

In addition, the San Francisco 49ers, the team Purdy plays for, are coming off a long season that ended with a loss in the Super Bowl. This can also take a toll on the team’s overall performance, further affecting Purdy’s numbers.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Don’t Expect a Repeat Performance

Kosport Magazine believes that while Brock Purdy had an exceptional season in 2023, it will be difficult for him to replicate that success in 2024. With the departure of some key teammates and the potential toll of a long season, Purdy’s numbers may not be as impressive. However, we will continue to keep an eye on Purdy’s performance and see if he can prove us wrong.

Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff Expected to Take a Step Back in Production in 2024

Kosport Magazine’s Take: With a full season of tape now available on him as the starting quarterback for the Detroit Lions, Jared Goff’s performance in 2024 may not be as impressive as it was before. This, despite his solid numbers from last season and with a talented supporting cast around him, might raise some eyebrows.

There is no denying that Goff had a successful campaign in 2023, with 4,575 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. However, with a possible health regression of his supporting cast, Goff’s performance could naturally take a step back. As Kosport Magazine, we believe that this may have been an overlooked factor in his stellar performance last season.

Looking back at Goff’s journey in the NFL, he was once hailed as a promising quarterback with great potential. This was especially true during his time with the Los Angeles Rams, where he led the team to a Super Bowl appearance in 2019. However, after a disappointing season in 2020 and being traded to the Lions, some question marks lingered around Goff’s abilities.

Despite having a talented arm, Goff has not always been consistent on the field. His accuracy and decision-making skills have been criticized, and with a new team, these issues may resurface. Additionally, with the Lions in a rebuilding phase, the lack of continuity and chemistry within the team may also affect Goff’s performance.

On top of that, the Lions’ supporting cast, while talented, may not match the level of productivity that Goff enjoyed with the Rams. Wide receiver corps, tight ends, and running backs all play crucial roles in a quarterback’s success, and if there are any injuries or setbacks, it could impact how a quarterback performs on the field.

Therefore, as much as we believe in Goff’s abilities and potential, we also have to take into account the possible regressions surrounding him. As Kosport Magazine, we predict that Goff’s production may not reach the same heights as last season, but with his talent and determination, we have no doubt that he will continue to be a valuable asset to the Lions.

At the end of the day, the 2024 season will be the ultimate test for Goff and his ability to lead the Lions. Will he be able to overcome the challenges and maintain his high level of performance? Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure, we will be keeping a close eye on Goff and the Lions as they try to make their mark in the NFL.Kosport Magazine’s take: Jared Goff has been a consistent performer in the NFL, throwing for over 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns for two years in a row. Now, he has been rewarded with a lucrative contract extension by the Detroit Lions, making him one of the highest-paid players in the league. However, the Lions have failed to add significant talent at the wide receiver position, which could lead to Goff taking a step back in 2024. With a tough NFC North division ahead, Goff will need to step up and find a way to succeed with the weapons he has.

In 2023, Goff was able to achieve the same statistical feats that quarterback Matthew Stafford did five times during his 12-year tenure with the Lions. But unlike Stafford, Goff achieved these numbers in consecutive seasons, solidifying himself as a dependable and consistent quarterback.

The Lions recognized Goff’s performance and potential and rewarded him with a five-year, $212 million extension, making him the second-highest paid player in the NFL with an average salary of $53 million per year. However, the lack of significant additions to the wide receiver position during the offseason could hinder Goff’s productivity.

While Goff has talented weapons like tight end Sam Laporta and third-year receiver Jameson Williams, the failure to find a reliable third option could lead to a regression in Goff’s performance. In a division with tough competition from the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, Goff will need to elevate his game and work with the players he has to lead the Lions to success.

Kosport Magazine’s take: With a strong core of offensive players intact, it will be up to Goff to elevate his game and work with his limited options at the wide receiver position. The pressure will be on for Goff to prove that he can produce at a high level with the weapons he has and lead the Lions to victory in a tough NFC North division. Despite his consistent performance in the past, Goff will need to rise to the occasion and show that he is truly deserving of his massive contract extension.nnn

The Rise of Baker Mayfield: A Story of Determination and Success

Baker Mayfield entered the 2023 season with much to prove. After being traded to a new team for the fourth time in just two years, he faced the daunting task of proving himself as a starting quarterback in the NFL. Many critics doubted his ability to succeed, but Mayfield stayed focused and determined.

Despite the challenges he faced, Mayfield had a career year last season. He recorded career-highs in completion percentage, passing yards, and passing touchdowns, solidifying himself as a top-10 quarterback in the league in these categories. This outstanding performance led to his team’s success and ultimately, Mayfield’s individual success.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:
Mayfield’s success was not solely based on his individual talents. The chemistry he built with his teammates and the support of his coaches played a crucial role in his achievements. However, with the departure of his offensive coordinator, there are concerns about how he will perform under a new play-caller.

This change could prove to be a roadblock in Mayfield’s success, but we believe in his determination and resilience. With his experience under different coaches and systems, Mayfield has proved he is adaptable and can thrive in any situation. We look forward to seeing him continue his rise in the upcoming seasons.rnrnrnrnrn rnrnrnrnrnrnrn

Kirk Cousins’ Tough Road Ahead in Atlanta

Kosport Magazine presents the latest news about NFL quarterback Kirk Cousins and his uncertain future with the Atlanta Falcons. At 36 years old and coming off a torn Achilles, Cousins is facing numerous challenges in the upcoming season. His health and supporting cast in Atlanta may not be as favorable as his previous team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Cousins’ Pass-Catching Options

One of the top concerns for Cousins is the downgrade in pass-catching options in Atlanta. While the Falcons have a promising young receiver in Drake London, he is no Justin Jefferson. Jefferson, who was named the 2022 NFL Offensive Player of the Year and recently signed a record-breaking contract, was a standout for the Vikings. In comparison, London’s potential may still need time to develop.

Furthermore, the Falcons’ other top receiver, 2023 first-round pick Jordan Addison, had an outstanding rookie season with 10 touchdowns and almost 1,000 receiving yards. This puts him ahead of Atlanta’s other pass catchers, including highly-touted tight end Kyle Pitts. Without a solid receiving corps, Cousins may struggle to replicate his past successes.

Coaching Changes

Another concern for Cousins is the change in coaching staff. While he had the support of Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell, who is known for his play-calling skills, he will now have to adjust to the play-calling of Atlanta’s offensive coordinator Zac Robinson. Robinson, who previously served as an assistant with the Los Angeles Rams, will be in his first season as a play-caller. This may lead to a learning curve for both Robinson and Cousins, further hindering the quarterback’s performance.

Kosport Magazine’s Take

With a potential downgrade in pass-catching options and a new play-caller to adjust to, Cousins may struggle to maintain his top-five quarterback status. However, his experience and leadership may be valuable for the Falcons, and it is possible that he can overcome these obstacles and lead the team to success. Only time will tell if Cousins can find success in Atlanta, but it won’t be an easy road for the veteran quarterback.

Deshaun Watson’s Journey as a Cleveland Brown

Since joining the Cleveland Browns in 2022, Deshaun Watson has faced numerous challenges that have affected his performance on the field. Despite being a talented quarterback, his time with the Browns has been marked by injury and personal struggles.

One factor that has impacted Watson’s performance is his extended absence from the game. After sitting out the entire 2021 season and the first 11 games of the 2022 season due to pending lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct, Watson returned to the field with some rust to shake off.

In addition to his prolonged absence, Watson also battled a fractured shoulder in 2023 which ultimately ended his season after just 10 games. The injury required surgery and added another hurdle for Watson to overcome.

The Numbers Don’t Lie

When looking at Watson’s statistics since becoming a Brown, they may not be what one would expect from a top quarterback. In fact, he currently ranks near the bottom among NFL quarterbacks with at least 300 pass attempts. Here’s a breakdown of his performance:

Categories Completion Percentage Pass Yards/Attempt TD-INT Passer Rating NFL Ranking*
Watson 59.8% 6.5 14-9 81.7 41st

*Out of 45 quarterbacks with 300 or more pass attempts

These numbers reflect Watson’s struggles on the field, but there is more to the story. Not only was he dealing with rust and recovering from injury, but he also faced the added pressure of the ongoing lawsuits and media scrutiny.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Despite all the challenges that Watson has faced, there is still hope for him to turn things around in the future. With a fresh start and support from his team, we believe he has the potential to bounce back and prove himself as a top quarterback in the NFL.

At the end of the 2023 season, New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr showed great potential, throwing 14 touchdowns and only two interceptions in the final five games of the year. This helped lead the Saints to four victories out of five games, showcasing Carr’s growth as a player.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Carr’s improvement in the final stretch of the season can partially be attributed to the weaker opponents the Saints faced. Two of their wins came against the bottom two teams in the league, the Carolina Panthers (28-6) and New York Giants (24-6). However, Carr’s success against more competitive teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (23-13 win) and Los Angeles Rams (30-22 loss) cannot be ignored.

It is also worth noting that the Saints were able to dominate the Atlanta Falcons (48-17) in Week 18, which ultimately cost Falcons head coach Arthur Smith his job. Despite facing some weaker opponents, Carr’s performance down the stretch was impressive and showed great promise for the future. With more development and experience, Carr has the potential to become a top quarterback in the league.

The New Head Coach of Atlanta: David Carr

David Carr has been named the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons for the upcoming 2024 season. This news comes as a surprise to many NFL fans, as the Falcons have struggled in recent years and have been searching for a coach who can turn their fortunes around.

Carr, a former NFL quarterback himself, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Falcons. He has spent the last five years as an assistant coach for the New Orleans Saints, helping develop their offense into one of the most potent in the league.

With the Falcons, Carr will be looking to bring his own unique style and approach to the team. He has a strong track record of working with quarterbacks and developing them into top-tier players. This could be a major breakthrough for Atlanta, who have been searching for a franchise quarterback for years.

But there are also concerns about Carr’s ability to lead a team as a head coach. While he has been successful as an assistant, being the head man comes with a whole new set of challenges. Some critics point to his lack of head coaching experience as a potential weakness.

Still, there is a sense of excitement and optimism surrounding Carr’s hiring. He is known for his innovative offensive schemes and his ability to adapt to different personnel. This could be exactly what the Falcons need to finally break out of their slump and become contenders once again.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: Beware of the Falcons in 2024

With Carr at the helm, the Falcons could be a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season. But at the same time, there are concerns about the lack of receiving talent on the team. The Falcons failed to acquire any notable receivers in the offseason, which could hinder Carr’s ability to fully implement his offensive vision.

But if anyone can work with what he’s got, it’s Carr. He has a history of maximizing the potential of his players and creating explosive offenses. And with a new head coach, the Falcons have a fresh start and a chance to turn things around.

So while some may doubt Carr’s ability to lead the Falcons to success, Kosport Magazine believes he has what it takes to make Atlanta a formidable team in 2024. Keep an eye on the Falcons this season, they may just surprise you.
