Kosport Magazine: Former NFL Veteran Grades Every Team’s 2024 Draft Class
The NFL Draft is a time of excitement and anticipation for both teams and fans alike. It’s a chance for teams to improve their rosters and for fans to see the future stars of the league. But not all teams come out of the draft with the same results. Some teams aced the test, while others needed improvement.
As the author and owner of Kosport Magazine, I have analyzed every team’s draft class and have revealed my favorite picks. But before we dive into the grades, let’s take a look at some of the top storylines from the 2024 NFL Draft.
One of the biggest surprises of the draft was the number one overall pick. Many experts predicted that the top spot would go to a quarterback, but the Jacksonville Jaguars shocked everyone by selecting a defensive end. This move shows the team’s commitment to building a strong defense and could pay off in the long run.
Another interesting storyline was the number of trades that occurred during the draft. The New England Patriots, known for their shrewd draft day moves, made several trades to move up and secure top talent. On the other hand, the Seattle Seahawks made a surprising move by trading away their first-round pick for future picks. Only time will tell if these trades were worth it.
Now, let’s get to the grades. As a former 10-year NFL veteran, I have a keen eye for talent and have evaluated each team’s draft class based on their needs and the value of their picks. Here are my grades for each team:
Team Grades:
A+
The New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens both received an A+ for their draft classes. The Patriots made some bold moves to secure top talent, while the Ravens addressed their needs and added depth to their roster.
A
The Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers all received an A for their draft classes. The Cowboys and Giants both made smart picks to improve their rosters, while the Chargers added some much-needed talent to their defense.
B+
The Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, and Miami Dolphins all received a B+ for their draft classes. The Browns and Colts addressed their needs and added some playmakers, while the Dolphins made some solid picks to improve their roster.
B
The Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Pittsburgh Steelers all received a B for their draft classes. The Packers and Chiefs made some solid picks to improve their rosters, while the Steelers added depth to their team.
C+
The Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos, and Tennessee Titans all received a C+ for their draft classes. The Falcons and Broncos made some questionable picks, while the Titans addressed their needs but may have reached for some players.
C
The Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and Las Vegas Raiders all received a C for their draft classes. The Cardinals and Bears made some risky picks, while the Raiders addressed their needs but may have missed out on some top talent.
D+
The Carolina Panthers, Detroit Lions, and New Orleans Saints all received a D+ for their draft classes. The Panthers and Lions made some questionable picks, while the Saints failed to address their biggest needs.
D
The Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and San Francisco 49ers all received a D for their draft classes. The Bills and Texans made some questionable picks, while the 49ers failed to address their biggest needs.
F
The Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, and Philadelphia Eagles all received an F for their draft classes. The Bengals and Vikings made some questionable picks, while the Eagles failed to address their biggest needs and made some head-scratching moves.
Summary:
Overall, the 2024 NFL Draft was full of surprises and excitement. Some teams made smart moves to improve their rosters, while others may have missed the mark. As always, only time will tell which teams truly aced the draft.

The 2024 NFL Draft: A Comprehensive Analysis of Each Team’s Picks
The 2024 NFL Draft has come to a close, but the excitement is far from over. With 257 players selected, it’s time to take a closer look at how each team fared with their draft class. Here at Kosport Magazine, we’ve analyzed each pick and given our team-by-team grades. So let’s dive in and see who came out on top!
(To see each club’s full draft class and grades for each selection, head on over to the CBS Sports draft tracker.)
AFC East: Patriots, Dolphins, Jets, Bills
The AFC East was a competitive division in the 2024 NFL Draft, with each team making some solid picks. The New England Patriots, led by head coach Bill Belichick, received a B+ grade from us. While their first-round pick, quarterback Drake Maye, may not see the field this year, they made up for it with their selections of wide receivers Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Keep an eye on offensive tackle Caedan Wallace, who could push for a starting spot this season.
The Miami Dolphins, under the guidance of head coach Brian Flores, received a B- grade from us. Their top pick, offensive tackle Chop Robinson, was a much-needed addition to their roster. But the real standout pick for us was offensive tackle Patrick Paul, who we believe will be ready to start this year. The trade up for wide receiver Jaylen Wright was a bit of a head-scratcher, but running back Mohamed Kamara could prove to be a steal in the fifth round.
The New York Jets, led by head coach Robert Saleh, also received a B- grade from us. Their top pick, offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, will be a key player for them now and in the future. We also love their selection of wide receiver Malachi Corley, who is known for his yards after catch ability. While we don’t quite understand the decision to draft two running backs, the Jets now have good depth at that position with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.
The Buffalo Bills, coached by Sean McDermott, received a C- grade from us. While we do like their picks of safety Cole Bishop, running back Ray Davis, and edge defender Javon Solomon, we couldn’t overlook the fact that they traded with their division rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, and allowed them to select the fastest player in NFL Scouting Combine history, wide receiver Xavier Worthy. However, we do believe Bishop will make an impact on the field this year.
AFC South: Texans, Jaguars, Colts, Titans
The AFC South was a mixed bag in the 2024 NFL Draft, with some teams making solid picks and others leaving us scratching our heads. The Houston Texans, led by head coach David Culley, received a B+ grade from us. Despite not having a first-round pick, they managed to get good value with their selections and addressed some holes in their secondary.
The Jacksonville Jaguars, coached by Urban Meyer, received a C+ grade from us. While we do like their pick of wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., we believe they reached for defensive tackle Maason Smith in the second round when they should have focused on their need for a cornerback.
The Indianapolis Colts, led by head coach Frank Reich, also received a C+ grade from us. While we do think their pick of defensive end Laiatu Latu was a great one, we were surprised that they didn’t address their need for a cornerback in this draft.
The Tennessee Titans, coached by Mike Vrabel, received a C- grade from us. Their top pick, offensive tackle JC Latham, was a great selection and will fit in nicely with their team. However, we believe they reached for linebacker T’Vondre Sweat in the second round.
AFC North: Steelers, Ravens, Browns, Bengals
The AFC North was a competitive division in the 2024 NFL Draft, with each team making some solid picks. The Pittsburgh Steelers, led by head coach Mike Tomlin, received an A- grade from us. Their top pick, quarterback Kaden Martin, has the potential to be a game-changer for their team. We also love their selections of wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba and cornerback Jalen Green.
The Baltimore Ravens, coached by John Harbaugh, received a B+ grade from us. Their top pick, offensive tackle Tyler Booker, will be a key player for them in the future. We also like their selection of wide receiver Jalen McMillan, who has the potential to be a deep threat for their offense.
The Cleveland Browns, led by head coach Kevin Stefanski, received a B grade from us. Their top pick, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, was a great selection and will make an immediate impact on their defense. We also like their pick of cornerback Jalen Kimber, who could develop into a solid starter for them.
The Cincinnati Bengals, coached by Zac Taylor, received a C+ grade from us. While we do like their pick of offensive tackle Amarius Mims, we believe they reached for wide receiver Jalen Hall in the second round. However, we do think their selection of cornerback Jalen Perry in the fourth round was a steal.
Summary
The 2024 NFL Draft was full of surprises and exciting picks, and each team had their own unique strategy. While some teams made solid selections and addressed their needs, others left us scratching our heads. Only time will tell which teams made the right moves, but one thing is for sure: the 2024 NFL season is shaping up to be an exciting one.
Kosport Magazine’s 2024 NFL Draft Grades: AFC North and AFC West
The 2024 NFL Draft has come and gone, and it’s time to grade each team’s performance. In this article, we will be focusing on the AFC North and AFC West divisions. From home run picks to questionable decisions, we break down each team’s draft class and give our final grade.
AFC North
Pittsburgh Steelers – A+
The Steelers had a stellar draft, with every pick screaming “Steelers football.” Their first-round pick, offensive lineman Troy Fautanu, is expected to make an immediate impact. With a strong focus on building their team in the trenches, the Steelers have set themselves up for success in the upcoming season.
Baltimore Ravens – A-
In typical Ravens fashion, they had another solid draft. Their first-round pick, Nate Wiggins, is considered the best man corner in the class and will be a valuable addition to their defense. They also addressed their needs in the trenches, making their team even stronger.
Cleveland Browns – B-
The Browns didn’t have many needs on their roster, so they focused on adding depth pieces. While they may not have made any flashy picks, they have strengthened their team overall.
Cincinnati Bengals – B-
The Bengals made a smart move by selecting offensive tackle Amarius Mims in the first round, securing their future on the offensive line. They also added depth pieces who can step in and play if needed, making this a solid draft for the Bengals.
AFC West
Kansas City Chiefs – B+
The Chiefs made a bold move by selecting Xavier Worthy, which will open up their downfield passing game. They also made some great picks in the later rounds, solidifying their team with talented players.
Los Angeles Chargers – B
The Chargers made an interesting move by selecting Joe Alt, who will be transitioning from RT to LT. They also added a playmaker in Ladd McConkey, making this a solid draft for the Chargers.
Las Vegas Raiders – D
The Raiders’ draft left many scratching their heads, with their first-round pick of Brock Bowers making little sense. They also failed to address their need for a quarterback, making this a questionable draft for the Raiders.
Denver Broncos – D
The Broncos made a reach by selecting Bo Nix at 12, and their decision to wait until the fourth round to take a wide receiver was concerning. However, their pick of Troy Franklin, Nix’s teammate, could prove to be a valuable addition to their team.
Kosport Magazine’s Summary:
Overall, the AFC North and AFC West teams had a mix of solid and questionable drafts. The Steelers and Ravens stood out with their strong picks, while the Raiders and Broncos left us scratching our heads. Only time will tell how these draft classes will impact each team’s performance in the upcoming season.
Kosport Magazine’s NFC Draft Grades: Which Teams Came Out on Top?
The NFL Draft is always an exciting time for football fans, as teams look to improve their rosters and build for the future. This year’s draft was no exception, with plenty of surprises and standout picks. Kosport Magazine breaks down the NFC teams and their draft grades, highlighting the top picks and potential impact players.
NFC North
The Chicago Bears get the top spot in the NFC North with an A- grade. They landed the top quarterback in the draft, Caleb Williams, and also added a top wide receiver in Rome Odunze. The addition of Kiran Amegadjie as a swing tackle adds depth to their offensive line.
The Detroit Lions also had a strong draft, earning an A- grade. They significantly improved their secondary with the selections of Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw Jr. They also added developmental players in Sione Vaki and Mekhi Wingo.
The Minnesota Vikings come in with a solid B grade. While JJ McCarthy is their future quarterback, he will likely have a development year. However, they made a steal with the selection of Dallas Turner at pick No. 17 and added potential starter Khyree Jackson at corner.
The Green Bay Packers round out the NFC North with a C+ grade. While their first-round pick of Jordan Morgan may have been a reach, it filled a need. They also revamped their linebacker position with the selections of Edgerrin Cooper and Ty’ron Hopper, and added depth to their secondary with Javon Bullard, Evan Williams, and Kitan Oladapo.
NFC East
The Washington Commanders take the top spot in the NFC East with an A+ grade. They landed the most dynamic quarterback in the draft in Jayden Daniels and made home run picks in Johnny Newton and Mike Sainristil in the second round. Watch out for the Commanders this year.
The Philadelphia Eagles also had a strong draft, earning an A grade. The selections of Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean will transform their secondary.
The Dallas Cowboys come in with a C grade. While Tyler Guyton will make the transition to left tackle, their lack of a running back selection raises questions about their plan for the position.
The New York Giants round out the NFC East with a D grade. Not taking a quarterback will likely haunt them, but they did add a solid consolation prize in wide receiver Malik Nabers.
NFC West
The Los Angeles Rams take the top spot in the NFC West with an A+ grade. They solidified their defensive line for the next few years with the selections of Jared Verse and Braden Fiske from Florida State.
The Arizona Cardinals also had a strong draft, earning an A grade. They added a top wide receiver in Marvin Harrison Jr. for quarterback Kyler Murray, and also landed an instant playmaker on defense in Darius Robinson.
The Seattle Seahawks round out the NFC West with an A grade. They made the best defensive pick in the draft with Byron Young and added depth to their offensive line with the selection of D’Ante Smith.
Summary
Overall, the NFC North and NFC East had the strongest drafts, with the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders leading the way. The NFC West also had a strong showing, with the Los Angeles Rams and Arizona Cardinals making standout picks. It will be exciting to see how these teams perform in the upcoming season with their new additions.
The San Francisco 49ers Make Bold Moves in the 2024 NFL Draft
The 2024 NFL Draft was full of surprises and the San Francisco 49ers were no exception. With a new head coach and a revamped front office, the 49ers were determined to make a statement and build a winning team. And they did just that with their bold moves in the draft.
First, let’s talk about their first round pick, Byron Murphy II. The 6’1″ cornerback out of Washington was a highly coveted prospect and the 49ers were lucky enough to snag him with the 12th overall pick. Murphy is known for his speed, agility, and ball-hawking skills, making him a perfect fit for the 49ers’ defense. With his addition, the 49ers’ secondary just got a whole lot stronger.
But the 49ers didn’t stop there. In the second round, they selected Christian Haynes, the best guard in the draft according to many experts. Haynes is a dominant force on the offensive line and will provide much-needed protection for the 49ers’ quarterback. With Murphy and Haynes, the 49ers addressed two key positions of need and set themselves up for success in the future.
Kosport Magazine applauds the 49ers for their smart and strategic picks in the first two rounds. But let’s not forget about their later picks, which also showed their determination to build a winning team. In the third round, they selected Ricky Pearsall, a versatile wide receiver out of Florida. Pearsall has the speed and route-running ability to make an immediate impact on the 49ers’ offense.
And in the fourth round, the 49ers took a chance on Renardo Green, a cornerback out of Florida State. While some may see this as a reach, Kosport Magazine believes that Green has the potential to develop into a solid player with the right coaching and support. Plus, with Murphy already in the mix, Green will have the opportunity to learn from one of the best in the game.
Overall, the 49ers’ draft grade may not be the highest, but Kosport Magazine sees the potential in their picks and the bold moves they made. With a new head coach and a revamped roster, the 49ers are on the right track to becoming a top team in the NFL once again. We can’t wait to see how these picks pan out on the field and we have a feeling that the 49ers will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.
Summary: San Francisco 49ers Make Bold Moves in the 2024 NFL Draft
The San Francisco 49ers made a statement in the 2024 NFL Draft with their bold moves and strategic picks. They addressed key positions of need with their first two picks, cornerback Byron Murphy II and guard Christian Haynes. Later picks, such as wide receiver Ricky Pearsall and cornerback Renardo Green, also show the 49ers’ determination to build a winning team. While their draft grade may not be the highest, Kosport Magazine sees the potential in their picks and believes the 49ers are on the right track to becoming a top team in the NFL once again.
