NBA Trade Rumors: Latest on Jimmy Butler, Brandon Ingram and Possible Moves for the Bulls, Pelicans and Rockets

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

The NBA offseason is always an exciting time filled with trade rumors, and this year is no different. With just 10 days left until free agents can officially sign with teams, the rumor mill is already churning. In this edition, we’ll take a look at the latest trade rumors involving Jimmy Butler, Brandon Ingram, and several teams including the Bulls, Pelicans, and Rockets.

Bulls making the rounds on Zach LaVine trades

The Bulls are facing important decisions this offseason, including re-signing DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams, as well as the potential trade of Zach LaVine. Despite attempts to trade him during the season, LaVine’s hefty contract and injury history have made it difficult to find a suitable trade partner. However, reports indicate that the Bulls have floated as many as 15 proposals to teams including the Kings, Magic, and 76ers. While no deal has been made yet, it’s clear that the Bulls will eventually have to move off of LaVine and it will be interesting to see what they are able to get in return.

Pelicans offered Brandon Ingram to Rockets

The Pelicans are looking to build a team around Zion Williamson and may not be willing to pay Ingram’s hefty contract extension this offseason. As a result, they have reportedly offered him to the Rockets in exchange for young star Alperen Sengun. This move indicates the Pelicans are looking for a young player who can grow with Williamson and potentially add some floor spacing to the team.

Rockets have interest in Marcus Smart

With the No. 3 pick in the upcoming draft, the Rockets have multiple options this offseason. One potential move could involve trading down and using that pick to acquire veteran players like Marcus Smart. The Rockets had interest in Smart at the trade deadline and could use his leadership and defense on a young team looking to improve. Alternative options for the Rockets include targeting other players looking to move up in the draft.
