Kristaps Porzingis Expected to Miss Games with Soleus Strain

Kosport Magazine – Apr 30, 2024

The Boston Celtics are facing a major setback as they head into Game 5 against the Miami Heat. Star center Kristaps Porzingis is expected to miss several games due to a right soleus strain suffered in Game 4. This news comes from sources close to the team, as reported by Kosport Magazine’s own Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Celtics have confirmed that Porzingis will be out for Wednesday’s game, but have not provided a timetable for his return. This is a huge blow for the team, as Porzingis has been a key player for them all season. His absence will be felt on both ends of the court.

The soleus strain is the same injury that has kept Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the playoffs. This injury has proven to be a difficult one to recover from, and it is likely that Porzingis will need some time to fully heal.

The injury occurred in the first half of Game 4, when Porzingis appeared to tweak something after catching a pass from Jaylen Brown. He immediately came up lame and had to leave the game. He did not appear to be touched by anyone on the play, making the injury even more concerning.

After the game, Porzingis was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot on his right foot. He underwent imaging on Tuesday to determine the extent of the injury. The results have not been released yet, but it is clear that he will be out for at least a few games.

This is a tough blow for the Celtics, who are currently up 3-1 in the series and looking to close out the Heat at home. Porzingis has been a key contributor for the team all season, averaging 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. His absence will be felt, but the Celtics will have to find a way to win without him.

Kosport Magazine will continue to provide updates on Porzingis’ injury and his potential return to the court. In the meantime, the Celtics will have to rely on their depth and resilience to finish off the Heat and advance to the next round. Stay tuned for more updates from Kosport Magazine.
