UFC star claims he was kicked out of T-Mobile Arena following blockbuster 20-second win at UFC 303

Budding UFC star Payton Talbott once again impressed the masses this past weekend at UFC 303, after scoring a knockout after just 20 seconds but was kicked out of the arena soon after.

At UFC 303 this past Saturday, young bantamweight contender, Payton Talbott, continued to show why he has star potential after knocking out Yanis Ghemmouri in just 20 seconds.

The 25-year-old now sits undefeated at 9-0 and is seemingly already on the verge of fighting inside the rankings.

Payton Talbott claims he was kicked out of the T-Mobile Arena after his win

The 12th annual International Fight Week event occurred from the T-Mobile Arena with Alex Pereira knocking out Jiri Prochazka in the main event. However, Talbott claims he wasn’t allowed to stay in the arena following his win.

When asked on the MMA Hour if he stuck around to watch Pereira defend his title, Talbott said: “No, they kick you out.”

This has historically been an issue for fighters, as Johnny Walker once found out as he was kicked out of the arena before he even had the chance to get changed.

“They were like ‘Do you have a ticket?’ and I was like, ‘I just fought’ and they said ‘No exceptions man’, I was like, are you joking? Yeah (they walked me out of the building), they wouldn’t let me back in,” Talbott continued.

The 25-year-old went on to explain that he wasn’t even given the chance to take a shower after his fight, not that he particularly broke a sweat this time around.

“As soon as you’re done with your media, you’re out. Nope (you don’t get to take a shower), I took one when I got home. I didn’t even know there were showers there. I changed (out of my fight gear), got my backpack on, and everything… and went back to the Airbnb, streamed the rest of the fights,” the 25-year-old admitted.

Talbott envisions his future in the sport is going to be ‘scary’

UFC 303 was a huge event and it gave Talbott the experience of what things could look like in his future. However, the 25-year-old doesn’t like that side of the sport and has admitted he is scared of that potential.

“I’ve kind of just been held up in my house the last day or so because I don’t like (the attention). It’s part of it, I don’t really like it, I would rather things stay the same.

“But yeah I get a feeling for what the future is going to be like and I can internally feel the way things are going to go and it’s a little scary and intimidating, but it’s also exciting. I just don’t like having the spotlight on me, honestly… it makes me a little uncomfortable,” Talbott admitted.

Unfortunately for the budding bantamweight, the attention is undoubtedly going to grow as he continues to put on star-making performances, and he has already eyed up who he wants to fight next.

“I have a feeling Adrian Yanez is booked with somebody or he’s about to be so I might have to catch him at the end of the year and I might maybe get one in before that,” the 25-year-old finished.
