Jon Jones injury

Jon Jones drug ban

Jones has had multiple issues with failed drug tests throughout his career, resulting in both fines from various athletic commissions and even a suspension from the sport.

These failed tests occurred in regard to Jones’ participation in UFC 182 in 2015, UFC 200 in 2016, UFC 214 in 2017, and UFC 232 in 2018.

Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou

A super fight between Jones and then-heavyweight king Francis Ngannou was on the Wish List of every UFC fan for years, but sadly that bout never came to fruition.

Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier

A rivalry that needs no introduction, Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones gave fans what was perhaps the single greatest rivalry in the history of the UFC.

Their first contest in 2015 ended in a Jones win via unanimous decision, with their highly-anticipated 2017 rematch initially ending in a KO win for ‘Bones’.

However, the victory would be overturned to a No Contest after Jones tested positive for Turinabol, an anabolic steroid.

Jon Jones vs Chael Sonnen

The rivalry between Jones and Chael Sonnen started when ‘Bones’ refused to accept a fight against the outspoken wrestler on short notice for UFC 151.

The pair would be pitted against each other as coaches for The Ultimate Fighter, after which they finally locked horns at UFC 159 – Jones won via first-round TKO.

Dominik Reyes vs Jon Jones

Arguably Jones’ toughest test to date inside the octagon, there are still plenty of fans (including the Bloody Elbow team) who believe Dominick Reyes indeed won that title fight in 2020.

Whilst Jon Jones remains one of MMA’s most controversial figures, with an equal number of die-hard fans as haters; no one can argue that ‘Bones’ isn’t one of the greatest fighters in history with a resume of iconic names to rival anyone in the sport.
