Watch Alex Pereira spar with heavyweight contender for UFC 303!

In Preparation for UFC 303, Alex Pereira Enlists Heavyweight Boxing Titan for Sparring Sessions

Alex Pereira is gearing up for his highly anticipated fight against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 303, and he’s leaving no stone unturned in his preparation. The Brazilian mixed martial artist has enlisted the help of Demsey McKean, an impressive heavyweight boxing contender, for some intense sparring sessions.

At the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Saturday evening, Pereira, also known as ‘Poatan’, will be looking to solidify his place as one of the pound-for-pound best in the sport. To achieve this, he knows he’ll have to push himself to his limits, which is why he’s bringing in top-level sparring partners like McKean.

In a recent training video uploaded to Pereira’s YouTube channel, the two athletes can be seen going head-to-head, exchanging powerful strikes and testing each other’s physicality and striking IQ. McKean, who stands at 6ft5 and weighs in at 244 pounds, holds an impressive record of 22-1 in boxing, making him a significantly bigger man than Pereira.

Despite the size difference, Pereira holds his own in the sparring session, utilizing his impressive head movement to make McKean pay. However, he also has to remain mindful of McKean’s heavy shots and maintain his composure throughout. The two athletes show mutual respect, hugging it out after the session and acknowledging each other’s skills.

This is not the first time Pereira has sparred with a UFC star. In a previous session, he traded leather with reigning UFC light heavyweight champion, Jan Blachowicz.

In addition to his successful career in boxing, McKean has also faced off against a familiar name in the MMA world – Tai Tuivasa. The Australian fighter, known for his epic ‘Shoey’ celebration, faced McKean in a boxing match before signing with the UFC.

Although McKean emerged victorious in their bout, both he and Tuivasa have gone on to achieve great success in their respective sports. Tuivasa is considered one of the top heavyweights in the UFC, while McKean has traveled the world and fought top opponents like Filip Hrgovic.

With both men coming off losses, fans are eagerly anticipating their return to the combat sports arena. Pereira and McKean’s intense sparring sessions highlight the level of dedication and preparation that goes into competing at the highest level of combat sports.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: It’s clear that Pereira is leaving no room for error as he prepares for his upcoming fight at UFC 303. Enlisting the help of a heavyweight boxing titan like McKean is a testament to his determination and commitment. We can’t wait to see how Pereira’s intense training will pay off in the Octagon. And with McKean’s impressive track record, we’ll surely be keeping an eye on his future fights as well.
