Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where we shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like there’s an MMA show every other day.

The women’s side of MMA has blessed us with some incredible highlights over the years, often in the form of dramatic back-and-forth battles such as Zhang Weili vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Alexa Grasso vs. Valentina Shevchenko 1 and 2, and Xiong Jing Nan vs. Angela Lee, not to mention the occasional shocking championship finish (Holly Holm and Julianna Peña, we see you!).

What’s less common is getting to see a female fighter celebrate a one-shot knockout, but something is in the air in 2024 because the ladies have delivered some of the year’s most unbelievable wallopings. From Tina Black’s title-winning flurry to Eun Bi Cho claiming her opponent’s soul to Tatiane Aguiar doing a shot-for-shot remake of Anderson Silva’s infamous front kick, it has been a banner year for women’s MMA KOs.

(Big thanks as always to @Barrelelapierna for their weekly lists of the best KOs and submissions, and to @Grabaka_Hitman for uploading many of the clips you see here. Give them a follow and chip in on Patreon if you can.)

Kosport Magazine Take:

Marlon Basilio was winning the majority of his middleweight title bout with Vinicius Pires until he remembered being punched to the ground early in the fifth round of their back-and-forth battle. With a little over a minute left in the opening round, Basilio took the opportunity to land a vicious right hand, sending Pires face-planting to the canvas and allowing Basilio to claim the LFA middleweight title. It was an impressive display of skill and power from Basilio, who has competed in weight classes from 125 to 145, making him a versatile threat in the women’s bantamweight division.

But Basilio was not the only one to deliver a brutal knockout at LFA 183 in Rio de Janeiro. In the flyweight division, Lincon Santos and Renildo Monteiro engaged in a wild slugfest, tossing each other around and bloodying each other up for nearly 15 minutes. With seconds left on the clock, Santos surprised everyone by delivering a diving GNP shot that knocked Monteiro clean out. It was a stunning and unforgettable finish, adding to the already impressive highlight reel of women’s MMA KOs in 2024.

But, as always, we can’t forget to give credit where credit is due. Thanks to LFA, Barrelelapierna, and Grabaka Hitman for bringing these amazing moments in women’s MMA to the forefront. And as always, support their work if you can.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

At the 183rd edition of Legacy Fighting Alliance, held in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, the women’s bantamweight bout between Leidiane Fernandes and Djulia Ariana stole the show with an incredible one-shot knockout. With only minutes left in the first round, Fernandes delivered a devastating right hand that sent Ariana crashing to the canvas, ending the fight in spectacular fashion. This fight, along with the incredible performances of other female fighters like Tina Black, Eun Bi Cho, and Tatiana Aguiar, serves as a reminder of the power and skill that women bring to the MMA world. A big thank you to LFA, Barrelelapierna, and Grabaka Hitman for capturing and sharing these unforgettable moments with the world. Make sure to support their work and stay tuned for more exciting fights in the future.

LFA 183 Delivers Exciting Finishes

Kosport Magazine witnessed an exhilarating night at LFA 183 with an abundance of finishes that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Referee Joao Claudio Soares stole the show with his calm yet confident demeanor, never flinching when Monteiro was sent ass over tea kettle in Round 2. This kind of composure is often overlooked in the intense world of MMA, but Soares proved to be a standout among officials.

The first finish of the night came from Vinicius Pires, who scored his first knockout of his career in impressive fashion at LFA 183. Pires’ celebration showed that he had been there before, displaying a level of maturity and experience beyond his years. With this finish, Pires moves to a record of 9-1 (1 NC).

Lightweight Marcelo Marques continued his winning streak at LFA 183, picking up his second consecutive first-round finish with a beautiful armbar of Gustavo Henrique. Marques is now 10-0 and is a strong contender for a call-up to the Contender Series. His quick and dominant performances are sure to garner attention from bigger promotions.

Hulking heavyweight Talisson Teixeira also made a statement at LFA 183, maintaining his unbeaten record with a vicious knockout. At only 24 years old, Teixeira is in no rush to move on to bigger promotions, but with six finishes in six fights, it won’t be long before he catches the eye of major organizations.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: LFA 183 showcased some of the most exciting finishes in recent memory. Oliver Schmid’s spinning backfist knockout of Dane Edge was one-of-a-kind, while Sean Gauci’s sixth consecutive win proves he is a force to be reckoned with in the regional scene. LFA 183 is now available for replay on UFC Fight Pass.

Oliver Schmid’s Unforgettable Finish

At a HEX Fight Series event in Auckland, New Zealand, Oliver Schmid delivered a knockout that will not soon be forgotten. In a display of incredible skill and precision, Schmid executed a spinning backfist while simultaneously dodging Dane Edge’s attack, leaving Edge disoriented and unsure of which way was up. It was a moment that will be replayed for years to come and solidifies Schmid as a true standout in the sport.

Kosport Magazine also took notice of Sean Gauci’s win over Nobuyoshi Nakatsukasa, as he continues his winning streak and proves he is a name to watch in the future. Gauci’s victory was an impressive knockout that displayed his power and skill in the cage.

LFA 183 was a night of exhilarating finishes and exciting prospects, and Kosport Magazine can’t wait to see what these talented athletes do next.

Blood Diamond Makes Triumphant Return to the Octagon

Kosport Magazine – After a year-long hiatus from the UFC, City Kickboxing fighter Blood Diamond has finally returned to the octagon with a bang. In his first fight since parting ways with the promotion, Diamond put on an impressive performance that has left fans and critics alike in awe.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Let us set the scene for you – it was a highly anticipated matchup between two top-ranked contenders. Diamond had been training tirelessly for his comeback and his opponent, Ray Quintana, was also ready to take on the challenge. The stage was set for an explosive showdown.

But things did not go as planned for Diamond. Despite putting up a good fight, he was eventually taken down by Quintana’s relentless strikes. Kosport Magazine witnessed the moment Diamond was left senseless by an uppercut from Quintana. But Diamond’s fighting spirit remained intact as he continued to push through, determined to come out on top.

In the end, Quintana emerged victorious with four straight wins under his belt. On the other hand, Diamond is still seeking his first victory since 2020 after going 0-3 in the UFC.

Jayden Martin vs. Christian Tremayne

Kosport Magazine – This week’s MMA matches have been nothing short of spectacular, with impressive ground striking and knockout finishes. But let us not forget how dangerous an opponent can be even from the ground. Case in point – Jayden Martin’s recent matchup against Christian Tremayne.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Tremayne had Martin in a good position on the ground, but he left himself open to an upkick and that’s when Martin took his chance. With a perfectly timed heel to the side of Tremayne’s head, Martin secured the win. It was an unorthodox move, but it clearly paid off for the young fighter.

Senbati Tasitanbieke vs. Zhou Nianle

Kosport Magazine – Senbati Tasitanbieke may be new to the pro scene, but he sure knows how to make an entrance. At a Jue Cheng King event in Shanxi, China, Tasitanbieke shocked the audience with a fearless jumping knee that landed right on his opponent, Zhou Nianle’s face.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

The crowd went wild as Tasitanbieke followed up with a pair of haymakers, securing his first professional win. Kosport Magazine witnessed the moment Tasitanbieke’s exuberance and determination prevailed against his opponent’s experience.

Patrick Ocheme vs. Glody Kanzeko

Kosport Magazine – Next up, we have a knockout sequence that even we need help describing. Patrick Ocheme took on Glody Kanzeko in a highly entertaining matchup that left fans jumping out of their seats.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

In a series of jaw-dropping moves, Ocheme stunned Kanzeko with a left high kick, followed by a jumping kick and a pair of hammer fists that left his opponent out cold. It was a finish that showcased Ocheme’s skills and capabilities, and we cannot wait to see what’s next for this rising star.

Zaakir Badat vs. Jailson Sousa

Vince Bembe vs. Adrian Sanchez

Kosport Magazine – The main event for the evening did not disappoint, as Zaakir Badat claimed the welterweight title in an explosive matchup against Jailson Sousa.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

From the opening bell, Badat wasted no time in unleashing a barrage of strikes on Sousa, leaving him unable to defend himself. It was a dominant performance that earned Badat the title and solidified his position as a top contender in the UFC.

Kosport Magazine is always on the lookout for the latest and most exciting moments in the world of sports. Stay tuned for more action-packed MMA events and make sure to catch all the replays on UFC Fight Pass. Until next time, keep fighting for your dreams!Kosport Magazine’s Take:
“Sharp kickboxing, fantastic instincts, and a straight detonation,” these are just a few phrases that come to mind when describing the latest fight at the EFC 113 event. And boy, was it a fight to remember.

In the first part, Badat showed off his impressive skills with a counter left and accurate punches, setting up a finish that left the audience in awe. On the other hand, Vince Bembe didn’t even bother with the “setup” part and went straight for the knockout, scoring the fastest KO in EFC history.

And we can’t forget about Adrian Sanchez, who had never been knocked out in his 10 pro bouts. Well, now he’ll never forget his first, as Bembe’s powerful strike left him knocked out and probably not remembering much.

But the excitement doesn’t end there. The EFC Worldwide events, including this one, are available for replay through subscription to Kosport Magazine TV. So, even if you missed the live action, you can still catch up on all the action and excitement.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:
But wait, there’s more. In this week’s Missed Fists moments, there were some other amazing performances that deserve recognition. Leidiane Fernandes freezing Djulia Ariana, Lincoln Santos’ buzzer-beating ground shot, and Oliver Schmid’s spinning and winning were all impressive, but Vince Bembe’s 13-second KO takes the cake as the most memorable moment of the week.
