BKFC KnuckleMania 4 fight night weights: Mike Perry only gained 5 pounds before 60-second knockout

Only Four Fighters Exceed Recommended Weight Gains at BKFC KnuckleMania 4

Welcome to Kosport Magazine, where we bring you the latest news and updates from the world of combat sports. In this edition, we take a closer look at the recent BKFC KnuckleMania 4 event, where only four fighters went over the recommended weight gains on fight night.

The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) recently released the fight night weights for the event, which featured some explosive matchups and impressive knockouts. As part of their efforts to prevent extreme weight-cutting, CSAC documents the changes fighters undergo from weigh-ins to fight night.

Out of all the fighters on the card, only four exceeded the recommended weight gains, with the rest staying within the limits set by CSAC. Let’s take a closer look at the numbers.

Mike Perry and Thiago Alves Stay Within Limits

In the main event, Mike Perry delivered a blistering 60-second knockout of Thiago Alves. But what’s even more impressive is that both fighters stayed within the recommended weight gains. Perry, who usually competes at 170 pounds, weighed in at 184 pounds and only gained five pounds for fight night, hitting the scale at 189 pounds.

Alves, on the other hand, weighed in at 183.9 pounds and only gained 7% of his total body weight, coming in at 196 pounds on fight night.

Heavyweight Co-Main Event Sees Fighters Drop Weight

In the co-main event, reigning BKFC heavyweight champion Mick Terrill and Lorenzo Hunt both dropped a few pounds between weigh-ins and fight night. Terrill weighed in at 249 pounds and then lost 3.8 pounds to compete at 245.2 pounds, while Hunt weighed 236.3 pounds at weigh-ins and then 231.1 pounds on fight night.

Ben Rothwell’s Weight Gain Still Within Limits

One of the biggest jumps in weight on the entire card was seen in Ben Rothwell, who gained 6% of his overall body weight. However, this was still within the recommended limits set by CSAC. Rothwell weighed in at 274.3 pounds and then put on 17.4 pounds to weigh 291.7 pounds on fight night.

Sydney Smith Goes Over Recommended Allowance

The only fighter from the main card who went over the recommended allowance was Sydney Smith, who suffered a first-round knockout loss to Crystal Pittman. Smith weighed in at 134.4 pounds and then gained 12% of her body weight, coming in at 150.6 pounds on fight night.
