Kosport Magazine: Derek Anderson Suffers Gruesome Foot Injury, Out of Bellator Paris Fight Against Cedric Doumbe

Just when Derek Anderson thought he had secured his next fight against Cedric Doumbe at Bellator Paris, disaster struck. The veteran fighter suffered a gruesome foot injury while riding his bike, forcing him to withdraw from the highly anticipated matchup.

Anderson announced the news on social media, along with a gnarly photo of his injured foot. PFL officials also confirmed his withdrawal from the fight, leaving Doumbe without an opponent for the May 17th event at the Accor Arena in Paris.

“Love you all. Hit and run,” Anderson wrote. “I’m so sorry I couldn’t make this fight happen. You have no idea. I will not be getting another bike.”

As of now, PFL is actively seeking a replacement opponent for Doumbe. The former GLORY kickboxing champion was looking to make his first appearance in nearly three years after falling to Michael “Venom” Page in 2021. His only scheduled bout since then in 2022 was also scrapped for unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, Doumbe will have to wait for a new opponent with the chance to serve as the co-main event at the upcoming Bellator card in Paris. He made a splash in his PFL debut with a lightning quick knockout, but suffered his first professional loss in MMA due to a toe injury in his following fight.
