Hamstring Tightness Sidelines M’s Starter Woo: Check out the Details!

Seattle Mariners’ Bryan Woo Leaves Game with Hamstring Tightness

On June 24, 2024, Seattle Mariners’ starting pitcher Bryan Woo left the game against Tampa Bay in the fourth inning due to right hamstring tightness. This injury occurred during a pitch to Taylor Walls with a runner on first base. Woo’s hamstring tightened as he pushed off the rubber with his right leg, and he was unable to complete a warmup pitch. He was then replaced by Tayler Saucedo on the mound.

Mariners’ manager Scott Servais announced that Woo will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine the extent of his injury. At this point, it is uncertain how long Woo will be out of the game.

Woo has had solid performance this season with a 3-1 record and an impressive 1.77 ERA through eight starts. Losing him to injury would be a blow to the Mariners’ rotation.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

The Seattle Mariners’ pitching depth will certainly be tested if Bryan Woo is out for an extended period of time. They will have to rely on their other starters to step up and fill the void left by Woo. This injury highlights the importance of having a strong and deep pitching staff in order to succeed in the long and grueling MLB season. We wish Bryan Woo a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the mound soon.
