Milwaukee Brewers Rookie Robert‍ Gasser to Undergo Tommy John Surgery, Out for ⁤12 Months

Kosport Magazine – The Milwaukee Brewers ‍have announced that rookie left-hander Robert Gasser will undergo Tommy John surgery, which will sideline him for approximately 12 months. Gasser, who has had a successful start to his Major League career,‍ has decided to have the surgery after receiving multiple opinions on⁢ the best way⁢ to treat his brewers/” title=”Shocking news: Gasser's return in doubt for Brewers”>left flexor strain.

The ‍25-year-old has been a valuable asset to the NL Central-leading ‌Brewers, boasting a 2-0 record with a 2.57 ERA in ⁤five starts. However, he ⁤was forced⁢ to ⁢miss the end of spring training due⁢ to bone ⁢spurs in his‍ throwing elbow. Despite this setback, Gasser managed ‌to make an impressive comeback and pitch five consecutive wins for the Brewers before being placed on⁢ the injured list on‌ June 5.

Kosport Magazine’s Take: While Gasser’s injury is a tough break for him and the Brewers, the decision to undergo surgery is a ‌necessary one. By ‍getting the ‍surgery now, ‍Gasser will have the ⁤opportunity to fully recover⁤ and come back stronger for the team. The rookie showed great potential in his first five starts and ⁤this‍ setback ⁤will only motivate him to prove his worth in the future.

In⁢ the words of manager Pat Murphy, “I think the one thing he got out ‍of the⁤ year was he understands, ‘I ⁢can pitch in ⁣the⁤ big leagues. I can be successful.’ He had as good a⁤ five starts as anybody could hope ‌for in their first five starts in⁢ the ⁣big leagues. I think that’s a‍ big win for the organization and a big win for him.”

Gasser, who ‌was drafted by the San Diego Padres⁤ in 2021, was traded to the Brewers in 2022 along with‌ three other players for closer Josh Hader.‌ Unfortunately, the Brewers have also lost pitchers Brandon Woodruff‌ and Wade Miley for ⁣the season.

But with Gasser’s strong start and promising future, the organization and fans can‍ rest assured that ⁢he‍ will make a strong comeback and continue to contribute to the‌ team’s success.
