Ramírez Returns! Guardians’ Star Player Activated from Paternity List

Guardians Third Baseman, José Ramírez, Returns After Paternity Leave

Kosport Magazine is thrilled to announce that the Cleveland Guardians’ star third baseman, José Ramírez, has returned to the team after a brief absence due to the birth of his third child. The news comes just in time for the AL Central-leading Guardians as they prepare to face off against the Seattle Mariners in a three-game series.

Ramírez, who is currently leading All-Star voting for his position, missed the final two games of the Guardians’ weekend series in Toronto while on the paternity list. However, the 31-year-old is now back in the lineup and ready to continue his impressive season. With a batting average of .269, 18 home runs, and 62 RBIs, Ramírez is a key player for the Guardians as they lead their division with a five-game lead over the Kansas City Royals.

To make room for Ramírez on the roster, the Guardians have optioned rookie first baseman/DH, Kyle Manzardo, to Triple-A Columbus. Although Manzardo showed some positive signs during his first stint with the team, the decision was made to give him consistent playing time in the minor leagues. Manager Stephen Vogt explained that this was important for the young hitter’s development and he will be ready to return to the team when needed.

The move also allows for Josh Naylor to continue his impressive production at first base, as Manzardo’s playing time had been limited due to Naylor’s success. The Guardians remain confident in Manzardo’s abilities and see him as an important player for their future.

“We think Kyle’s a really good first baseman and a very good hitter,” Vogt said. “We know he is going to help us tremendously in the future.”

Kosport Magazine’s Take:
The return of José Ramírez is crucial to the Guardians’ success as they continue to dominate the AL Central. Although Kyle Manzardo showed promise during his time with the team, it’s important for him to get consistent playing time in the minor leagues to continue his development. Ramírez’s return adds even more depth to the already strong Guardians lineup and the team is excited to have him back.
