MVP Judge Keeps Up HR Streak: The Reason is Clear

Kosport Magazine: Aaron Judge hits third home run in two games, leads Yankees to victory

June 2, 2024

SAN FRANCISCO – In a display of sheer power, New York Yankees’ outfielder Aaron Judge hit his third home run in two games at San Francisco’s ballpark. Judge’s incredible performance helped the Yankees defeat the Giants 7-3 on Saturday night.

Judge, who had previously hit two home runs in Friday night’s game, followed up with an even more impressive display on Saturday. In the first inning, he crushed a changeup from Logan Webb a whopping 464 feet into the left-field bleachers, giving the Yankees an early 2-0 lead.

“I have a lot of family and friends in town, so I wanted to do something special for them,” Judge said. “It’s always a great feeling to come back to where I grew up and put on a show for them.”

Judge’s dominance at the plate continued throughout the game. He has now hit six home runs and recorded 12 RBIs on the first eight games of the Yankees’ California road trip.

But Judge wasn’t the only one contributing to the Yankees’ strong performance. Outfielder Giancarlo Stanton also hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, giving the team a comfortable lead. And Alex Verdugo added two more RBIs to further solidify the Yankees’ victory.

Kosport Magazine’s Take:

Judge’s impressive home run streak is reminiscent of his record-breaking 62-home run season two years ago. He has now reached base safely in 28 consecutive games, showing no signs of slowing down.

The Giants’ Webb was unable to contain Judge’s power, intentionally walking him in the third inning and ultimately striking him out in the fifth. But despite Judge’s dominant performance, the Yankees’ pitching also played a crucial role in securing the win. Cody Poteet, who was called up from Triple-A, allowed only three runs in his second start of the season.

The Giants, on the other hand, have now lost three consecutive games for the first time since May. Webb, who had previously been strong at home, struggled against the hot bat of Judge and the rest of the Yankees’ lineup.

Judge’s exceptional performance in San Francisco is a testament to his skills and a reminder of his MVP season. The Yankees will look to continue their winning streak, while the Giants will try to bounce back in their next game.
