The battle for the top spot in the National League has been fierce, with three powerhouse teams vying for the position. But there is one team that has emerged as the clear No. 1 in our rankings – the Philadelphia Phillies.
The top five has also seen some shifting as the New York Yankees have jumped two spots to No. 3 and the Atlanta Braves have fallen to No. 5 as they struggle to find their offensive rhythm.
So, is Philadelphia truly the best team in MLB right now? And which rising team has the potential to knock one of the elite clubs off their spot?
At Kosport Magazine, our expert panel has come together to rank every team in baseball based on a combination of their performance so far and what we already knew coming into this 162-game marathon of a season. We have also asked our MLB experts to provide their observations for each of the 30 teams.

Ranked at the top of our list is none other than the Philadelphia Phillies. With a record of 36-14, they have shown incredible consistency and dominance on the field.
Led by Ranger Suarez, who boasts a remarkable 1.35 ERA through his first 10 starts, the Phillies have been a force to be reckoned with. In fact, Suarez has joined an exclusive list of pitchers since 1920 who have won at least nine of their first 10 starts with an ERA under 1.50.
Moving on to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have fallen to the second spot in our rankings. However, this was mostly due to a slow start to the season, as they have shown tremendous improvement and are now only three games behind the top-ranked Phillies.
Walker Buehler’s performance in his third start since his second Tommy John surgery has been a big boost for the team. The right-hander shut out the Cincinnati Reds through six innings, allowing only three hits and striking out seven batters.
The New York Yankees have also climbed up our rankings, landing in the third spot. Although they suffered a loss to the Seattle Mariners on Monday, their bullpen has been a major strength for the team this season. Closer Clay Holmes, in particular, has been a standout performer, going 20 straight innings without allowing an earned run.
Last but not least, we have the Baltimore Orioles at No. 4. They have been a bit of an underdog this season, but their strong starting rotation has kept them in the game. Despite a dip in offensive production in May, the team has still managed to hold a winning record for the month.

1. Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have been on a downward spiral this season, with a record of 16-32 and currently sitting at the bottom of the NL West. They have struggled to find consistency on the field, and the absence of key player Kris Bryant has only added to their struggles.
