Sergio Perez Expresses Discomfort with RB20
Despite achieving two podium finishes at the start of the 2024 Formula 1 Season, Sergio Perez has revealed his discomfort with the RB20.
Checo expressed his dissatisfaction with the car, stating, “At the moment, the car is not very comfortable for me, but I understand much more about how to maximize performance,” as reported by RacingNews365.
The Mexican driver admitted that he has not been able to match his teammate, Max Verstappen, leading him to battle against the rest of the grid, which he does not see as a positive situation.
“So that’s something that’s quite good for us (performance), and in Bahrain, I didn’t put it. I should have been on the front row, you’re talking about a tenth or so, so you’re setting things up in the race,” he insisted.
He added, “We didn’t have the right setup with our settings and we’re not good at taking care of the tire, so my race was basically against Carlos Sainz rather than Max,” he emphasized after the events of the first race of the 2024 Formula 1 Season.

The 34-year-old Mexican driver declared himself ready for the third race of the year, which will take place this weekend in Melbourne.
