Sergio Perez gears up for the Australian Grand Prix
Sergio Perez is heading into the week leading up to the third race of the season with the Australian Grand Prix starting on Thursday.
So far, Checo Perez has secured two second-place finishes behind Max Verstappen, who continues to dominate the grid but has been surrounded by controversy due to Christian Horner’s issues within the team and statements made by his father, Jos.
In his particular case, Checo aims to stay away from the noise generated on social media and outside the team to focus on his work.
“I think I am privileged because I am a bit older and grew up without social media. It can be really toxic, I am not a big fan of that, so I always try to stay away from it, ensuring that I can come here to do my job, give it my all, and prepare as best as I can,” he stated.
“That’s all I can do… at the end of the day, the most important thing is you and your team trying to deliver, and the external noise will always be there. There’s nothing you can do about it, but it’s important to make sure you can shut it out,” he mentioned on the F1 Beyond The Grid podcast.
Sergio Perez feeling more at ease at Red Bull
The driver from Guadalajara believes that after another year with the team, he is more adapted to better understand the philosophy and seek greater performance from the car.
“I feel more comfortable in the team, I understand much more the Red Bull philosophy, setups, and more things. Every year you spend with a team is better because people forget how long it takes to get up to speed with the car culture, the concept,” he explained.
Checo on trying not to get affected by social media
“I think I’m privileged because I’m a bit older and grew up without social media. It can be really toxic, I’m not a big fan of that, so I always try to stay away from it, making sure that I’m able to come here to do my…”
“Maximizing every opportunity, there are 24 races, being able to go race by race and have that evolution, I know I can do it and (thus) will have a great year… being able to focus on the right approach for the whole weekend, a proper Qualy, making that progress,” Perez expressed.
Conclusion:
Sergio Perez’s focus on shutting out external noise and maximizing his performance at Red Bull shows his determination to succeed in the upcoming races. With a deeper understanding of the team’s philosophy, Perez is poised for a successful season ahead.
