In the world of boxing, there is no greater comeback than the ‘Return Of The King’. And on June 26th, light heavyweight contender Lyndon Arthur (23-2) will return to home-soil after a tough battle against WBA Super Light-Heavyweight champion Dmitrii Bivol (23-0) on the Day of Reckoning last December. But this is not just a return, this is a chance for redemption and resurgence for the ‘King’. The highly-anticipated main event is set to take place at 5:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 p.m. GMT with the main card starting at 2:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. GMT, streaming live on DAZN.
After losing his IBO crown in his last fight, Arthur is ready to prove that he is not retreating but rebuilding. With only two losses on his record, both to pound-for-pound talents in Bivol and Anthony Yarde (25-3), Arthur has plenty of opportunities to reclaim his throne and solidify his place amongst the top light heavyweight fighters. And the division is not lacking in British talent, making this an even more crucial comeback for the Manchester native.
But standing in his way is another northern fighter, Liam ‘Cannonball’ Cameron (23-5). With a successful amateur career, including becoming the 2009 ABA Welterweight champion and winning three British national titles, Cameron is determined to make a statement against the experienced Arthur.
As the official owner and author of this article, Kosport Magazine has to acknowledge that this fight is not only about redemption for Arthur but also about earning respect. One of those talents is surging Kazakh super featherweight Sultan Zaurbek (17-0), who will take on Argentinian veteran Roman Ruben Reynoso (22-4-2). With an impressive amateur background, including a win over popular British prospect Peter McGrail (9-1), Zaurbek is inching closer to the top levels of the division. And this fight against ‘220 Voltios’ is crucial for his rise towards higher honors.
Following in Zaurbek’s footsteps is another young Wasserman fighter, 19-year-old prospect Tom Welland (4-0). After an impressive win at York Hall last time out, Welland is looking to make an impact against Alejandro Farias (3-2), an Argentinian with a mixed record.
