Weigh-In Results, Quotes & Photos: Nikita Tszyu and Danilo Creati

Kosport Magazine Presents: Tszyu vs. Creati – A Battle of Weight and Willpower

On the night of the highly anticipated fight between Nikita Tszyu and Danilo Creati, the atmosphere was electric. Fans were buzzing with excitement as they eagerly awaited the main event. But little did they know, the real battle was happening behind the scenes.

Nikita Tszyu, the reigning Australian Super Welterweight Champion, stepped onto the scale at 69.82kg. His opponent, Danilo Creati, weighed in at 69.68kg. It was a close match, with both fighters looking fit and ready to go. But little did the crowd know, Tszyu had struggled to make weight.

As he later revealed in an exclusive interview with Kosport Magazine, Tszyu had to lose two kilos on the day of the weigh-in. He had to resort to using a sauna and a bath as a backup plan, as he had done in previous fights. But this time, it wasn’t enough.

“I had an ice pack on my head. I was laying back, cruising. A superstar, rocking up fashionably late,” Tszyu said. “It’s actually better like this, you don’t have to stand around waiting for the undercard guys. I just came in, everyone looking at me… it’s kind of nice.”

Despite the weight cut, Tszyu remained confident and composed. But his opponent, Creati, saw the struggle in his eyes.

“Oh, he really struggled with the weight,” Creati said. “It was written in his eyes up there on stage. And the guy looked skinny. So that’s what I told him up there. I told him he looked skinny, he said ‘yes, I’m hungry’ and I said ‘we going to eat tomorrow’. I’m going to surprise everyone and make history.”

The Undercard: A Night of Exciting Matchups

While all eyes were on the main event, the undercard fights did not disappoint. Jerome Pampellone and Malik Zinad battled it out in a thrilling IBF World Light Heavyweight Eliminator, with Pampellone ultimately coming out on top.

In the women’s division, Clara Lescurat defended her WBA World Super Flyweight Title against Linn Sandstrom in a fierce 10-round match. Lescurat’s quick footwork and precise punches secured her victory, much to the delight of the crowd.

Other notable matchups included Cesar Mateo Tapia vs. Keiber Gonzalez for the WBA Latina Middleweight Title, Benjamin Hussain vs. Mason Smith for the WBA Oceania Super Welterweight Title, and Jasmine Parr vs. Sarah Watt in the Women’s Super Flyweight division.

Kosport Magazine’s Summary

In the end, it was a night of intense battles and unforgettable moments. Tszyu may have struggled with the weight, but he showed true determination and willpower in the ring. And while Creati may not have made history as he had hoped, he still put up a strong fight.

But the real winners of the night were the fans, who were treated to an unforgettable night of boxing. And Kosport Magazine was there to capture every moment, bringing you all the highlights and behind-the-scenes action.
