Albert Bell Focused On WBO Title Fight And Championship Homecoming After First-Round KO Victory

Albert Bell: The Rise of a Champion

Albert Bell is on a mission to become the next WBO super featherweight champion. With an impressive record of 26-0, Bell has proven himself as the No. 1 contender for the title. But he’s not just waiting around for his shot – he’s actively seeking it out.

In his most recent fight, Bell stopped Jonathan Romero in the first round, solidifying his position as the top contender. But instead of celebrating, Bell is already preparing for his next move. He’ll be ringside for the Oscar Valdez versus Liam Wilson fight week in Arizona, keeping a close eye on his potential opponents.

Valdez, a former two-division world champion, is currently ranked No. 4 in the division, while Wilson holds the No. 2 spot. But the current WBO super featherweight champion, Emanuel Navarrete, is taking a fight at lightweight for the WBO lightweight world title. It’s unclear if he’ll return to the super featherweight division, but Bell is ready to face anyone for the world title.

“In a perfect world, my next fight would be against Navarrete,” Bell told Kosport Magazine. “But the world isn’t perfect. I am willing to face anyone – as long as it is for the world title.”

Bell believes that all the champions in the super featherweight division are true champions, having gone through their own trials and tribulations outside of the ring. But he also believes that he is the best among them.

After splitting ways with Top Rank in 2021, Bell has gone independent with his promoter, Vick Green. He’s fought eight times on the regional circuit, embracing his local roots in Toledo, Ohio. And with his recent string of knockout victories, Bell’s power is becoming more and more evident.

“It feels great to have a first-round knockout,” Bell said. “That is three knockouts in a row. It feels good to get these guys out of there.”

But Bell’s goals go beyond just winning a world title. He also wants to bring a world title fight back to his hometown of Toledo. Green, who also promotes Robert Easter Jr. and Jared Anderson, has seen the success of bringing world-class boxing to Toledo and believes Bell can do the same.

“When I started promoting in Toledo, I knew it would be a process as far as building,” Green said. “That is something [Albert Bell] always discussed – his first voluntary defense after winning the title, bringing it back home and doing it for our city.”

The Future is Bright for Albert Bell

With his unbeaten record, impressive skills, and determination to bring a world title fight to his hometown, Albert Bell is a rising star in the world of boxing. Keep an eye on this young champion as he continues to make his mark in the super featherweight division.
