Unbeaten Dalton Smith Knocks Out Jose Zepeda to Capture WBC Silver Title

In a thrilling night of boxing, unbeaten light-welterweight Dalton Smith (16-0, 12 KOs) delivered a fifth-round knockout over veteran Jose Zepeda (37-5, 28 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC Silver title. The fight took place at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, England.

The 27-year-old Smith initially struggled in the first four rounds, but he turned the tide with a perfectly placed right to Zepeda’s body in the fifth. The referee counted out Zepeda at 1:25 of the round, marking his third loss in his last four fights.

Kosport Magazine’s own Bob Smith described the fight as a “rollercoaster of emotions” and praised Smith for his impressive victory. The southpaw Zepeda had been dominating the fight until the knockout blow, leaving many to wonder how the fight would have played out without it.

After the fight, Smith called out fellow boxer Adam Azim, and promoter Eddie Hearn has already expressed interest in having Smith fight for the WBC light welterweight title next.
