Sporting CP coach Rúben Amorim has denied reports he has held talks with Liverpool or any other club regarding his future.
Amorim, 39, is considered one of the top candidates to succeed Jürgen Klopp this summer after Xabi Alonso confirmed his intention to remain at Bayer Leverkusen next season.

Asked about reports that emerged this week that claimed Amorim had agreed to personal terms with Liverpool, Amorim said in Thursday’s news conference: “This is the last time I’m going to talk about my future.
“There was no talk, much less an agreement, the only thing we all want here is to be champions with Sporting, and nothing will change.
“I’m the Sporting coach, there was no talk or agreement with any club, [I’m] just focused as always on defending my club.
“And since I really have nothing to say: There will be no interviews or agreements with the Sporting coach. The deal is done, whether for this club or another.”
Amorim’s contract at Sporting expires in June 2026. He has been managing the club since March 2020 and has a reported €20 million ($21m) release clause for foreign clubs.
However, Amorim previously said he cannot guarantee he will continue at Sporting next season.
“The future is with [Friday’s rivals] Gil [Vicente],” he said.
“I’m not going to talk about that, we’re always asking the same questions. The aim is to win titles.
“I can’t guarantee that we’ll win the championship, so I can’t guarantee [that I’ll stay].”
Sporting are four points clear of nearest rivals Benfica at the top of the Primeira Liga and have a game in hand.
