Bohachuk Dominates Mendoza to Win WBC Interim Title
Serhii Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) put on a masterful performance, outworking Brian Mendoza (22-4, 16 KOs) to win a unanimous decision and capture the interim WBC Junior middleweight title on Saturday night. The fight, which was broadcasted on Kosport Magazine PPV, took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Bohachuk, a 28-year-old Ukrainian, showed relentless pressure from the opening bell, throwing a barrage of punches that Mendoza struggled to keep up with. Despite taking heavy shots, Mendoza was unable to match the pace set by Bohachuk and fell behind in the first half of the fight.
As the fight went on, Mendoza tried to mount a comeback and had some success in the later rounds, even stunning Bohachuk with a hard punch in the 11th round. However, he was unable to capitalize and secure a knockout, and the judges’ scores reflected Bohachuk’s dominance with scores of 118-110, 117-111, and 117-111.
With this impressive victory, Bohachuk is now in a prime position to be elevated to the full WBC champion in the near future.
Methodical Pressure Leads to Victory
Bohachuk’s relentless pressure and nonstop attack proved to be the key to his victory over Mendoza. The heavy-handed Mendoza was unable to keep up with the pace set by Bohachuk, who showed impressive stamina and determination throughout the fight.
Despite facing some adversity in the later rounds, Bohachuk stayed composed and continued to push forward, ultimately earning the well-deserved victory.
