Welcome to the Kosport Magazine’s coverage of the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2024!
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the 13 legends who will be enshrined in Springfield, Massachusetts this summer. Among them are former NBA stars Vince Carter and Chauncey Billups, Lakers legends Michael Cooper and Jerry West, and many more.
The full list of nominees from the North American and women’s committees were unveiled in December, with the finalists being announced ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend in Salt Lake City. And now, as part of the NCAA men’s basketball Final Four weekend in Houston, the full class has been revealed.
Enshrinement weekend will begin at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on August 16, with the tip-off celebration and awards gala. This will include the presentation of the Class of 2024 jacket and ring, as well as the annual Hall of Fame Awards. The enshrinement ceremony will take place the following day, August 17, in Springfield’s historic Symphony Hall.
But before we dive into the Class of 2024, let’s take a look back at some of the recent Hall of Fame classes. In 2023, we saw Gene Bess, Pau Gasol, David Hixon, Gene Keady, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, Gregg Popovich, Dwyane Wade, Becky Hammon, Gary Blair, Jim Valvano, and the 1976 U.S. Women’s Olympic Team all receive the prestigious honor.
In 2022, Sonny Boswell, Swin Cash, Larry Costello, Hugh Evans, Manu Ginobili, Tim Hardaway, Del Harris, Lou Hudson, Bob Huggins, Inman Jackson, George Karl, Radivoj Korac, Albert Pullins, Theresa Shank-Grentz, and Lindsay Whalen were all inducted.
And in 2021, we saw Val Ackerman, Rick Adelman, Chris Bosh, Bob Dandridge, Lowell Fitzsimmons
